The Seattle Sounders told their supporters via a news email today that whomever wins the Sounders-FC Dallas match will go on to host the USOC Final. Seattle and Dallas were the top two bidders to host the 2007 Cup Final.
I guess the Revolution's bid came up short, which probably works out just fine for them when considering the likely economics and politics of the bid process. Works out quite nicely for Dallas and Seattle though: If the Sounders advance, they'll likely get a big crowd, a national TV audience, and an opportunity for people to further talk of joining MLS, while Dallas would likely get a good crowd from the Denilson effect. Good for you Sounderfan. I hope you guys get the victory and host the final. Hopefully The Seahawks & Mariners will help promote the final if your team gets the victory on Tuesday.
it'd be nice if we could win, host the final, win the USOC, and tell the MLS team we beat to SHOVE IT and then celebrate like mad
