    Match preview.

    10:00 pm, Telefutura

    REFEREE/ARBITRO: Carlos Batres (GUA)
ASSISTANT REFEREES/ARBITROS ASISTENTES: Hector Vergara (CAN); Amato DeLuca (CAN)
FOURTH OFFICIAL/CUARTO OFICIAL: Baldomero Toledo (USA)

Pachuca rested a bunch of guys in their 1-0 loss to Santos on Saturday. see Mediotiempo box score here. Alvarez, Gimenez and Cacho played only as second-half subs, Pinto and Correa didn't play at all.

Chitiva is suspended for this game after his red card in semifinal.

Latest reports are that Beckham, Donovan and Xavier will play.

My only question is this - does Pachuca feel like scoring in double digits?

Pachuca won the final last week. This is more like a victory lap.

10pm your time, which is 8pm my time (PST). :D

This is LAG's probably only chance at silverware, they're "at home," have their best players appearing, already beaten Pachuca, and it's against a Mexican team - so I'm guessing it will be quite good.

Beckham may play, but he won't be healthy I think. He looked positively horrible v Chivas (why the hell did he play there? Idiot...) and rumor was that he had reinjured his ankle, which, if true, would be devastating for the LAG (good for 'em). Donovan should be ok, Xavier should be able to play (dunno about 100%). Anyway, I'm hoping that Pachuca slaughters them.

    4-1 Pachuca

It'll be even more if Beckham/Xavier get injured, carded or otherwise removed from the game.

<EDIT> Will the Mezz have this? Might go by and watch it there and grab a late dinner

Pachuca is going to be out for blood. They outplayed LA the last game and I'm sure they will be more focused and sharp this time around. Unless LA plays their hearts out and pulls off a perfect game, there is a very small chance LA can pull it off.

But I see Pachuca winning by at least two goals.

Who is this Beckham you guys keep talking about?

    Prediction for this match: Pain.

    Seriouxly, here is my prediction:

LA gets slaughetered, Lalas fires Yallop and AEG then fires Lalas. Fake Salt Lake then picks up Lalas and gets even worse. Beckham makes millions.

There is nothing "super" about this match-up. Pachuca will win and the whole team will go to Disneyland tomorrow. Beckham should sit. He's got warehouses full of shirts to sell at the remaining away MLS games.

Mediotiempo has both Beckham and Donovan as starters right now but that could change by game time.

Even if the Galaxy beat Pachuca in the first round, and even if I feel Correa and some of those Tuzos acted like a punks when they played here, I don't believe L.A. has a prayer against Los Tuzos. Beckham is not healthy, like 8 of the Galaxy players are walking wounded
It's going to be like sheep being led to the sacrifice altar. with a bunch of Hollywood stars turning away in horror !!

    p.s.

We might see several Super Liga records being set tonight. like how soon a stadium becomes empty, how many (L.A.) players get red carded or carried away in a stretcher. how many goals get scored in the first five and last minutes of the game..........etc.....etc....etc..

I'm probably out numbered on this but I'll be rooting for LA. I would like a MLS team to win the inaugural Superliga tournament instead of a Mexican league team that has won every tournament in N. America.

Don't get me wrong....I have a feeling Pachuca is going to kill LA especially the way LA is playing right now.

Does anyone know why ESPN reported, "The fact that a scheduling conflict with landlord Cal-State Dominguez Hills will limit attendance to 12,500 fans (a little less than half the Home Depot Center's capacity) only adds to the Galaxy's woes."

    ESPN Story

Why is attendance going to be limited?

This is worst finals that I expected. I would rather have Club America vs Pachuca here in Houston as the finals. This just sucks. 12K at the stadium what a joke for the Finals of the Tournament.

Well MLS got what it wanted the Super CLub in the Finals.

Even if Cobi played, I want Pachuca to slaughter LA. They don't deserve to be there.

Yea, they could have moved this match to the Coliseum and get more than 12,000. but that just means less people will be on hand to witness the blood bath.

The record for "cams" will be set tonight., the Beckham in the stands with Posh-cam, the Hollywood starlet-cam, the Riot Squad wearing sombrero-cam, the Yallop death watch-cam, the Lalas is crying like a little girl-cam.....etc...etc...etc..

I expect the Galaxy to defense the entire game and only attack when they have a counter attack. Final Pachuca 6 LA 1

The Home Depot Center is right on the Cal State Dominguez Hills college campus. Classes start this week, and parking is shared between the HDC and the students. Sounds like there's (allegedly) a restriction in the contract with Cal State DH and the Galaxy, much like the restrictions in the UH contract with Houston, about midweek games when school is in (although I've never heard this as a problem before).

Anyway, whether it's really contractual, or a good way for LA to make sure it's a "sellout", it's hard to say. Smells kind of fishy, if LA really wanted to have more people attend they could have arranged for buses/shuttles from parking somewhere else....

Now that burns my chops right there !!!
Who the hell agrees to these kind of things?? why make a deal where a team is not going to make money on a match?? why do teams agree to build stadiums with school districts and colleges where their boards are going to be all snoby in crap??

This is why a red flag went up for me when it was mentioned in the media that the Dynamo and TSU were talking about sharing a stadium.
