I think this is going to be a long dark road for our belove USMNT. We've lost 4 straigt games and this does not look good at all. I think Bob is just not a good coach. You are going to excuse me, but in our last game he show all he had and still played terrible. When Bob is going to finally understand that his son Michael Bradley is not national team caliber yet. In fact i dont think he would a regular in most MLS teams. Are we going to qualify for the world cup, yes, are we going to fail in the world cup, yes if Bob Bradley is the head coach. I know many of you agree with me as we talk, and some dont. But, those of you who disagree with me will soon agree. Bob is clueless, changes formation all the time, plays favorite and does not listen. He is like the George W. Bush of soccer.
Jurgen Klinnsman should be the coach of the USMNT but didn't clueless Sunil Gulatti screw that up by pissing off Klinnsman?
Yeah that's the main thing pisses me off about Bradley. His favoritism sends wrong message to other players. His son Michael has had so much playing time lately, that pisses me off.
hey i just wanted to let you know your title doesn't make any sense. i've been informed that here at bigsoccer we try to promote good grammar and spelling. keep that in mind next time you post.
Although Bob BRadley may not be my favorite, I must take issue with your claims about his son not being a regular in an MLS squad, utter rubbish. He has earned a regular spot in a Dutch side, but couldn't earn an mls start, let's be serious yes he could. How did you feel about Michael after the Gold Cup? Easy to point fingers when losing, harder to accept that he played well at times and others times he has struggled, just like the rest of the team. Just because he shares the same last name, he's an easy target for everyone. Go after Eddie Johnson, who is mediocre at best. Enough with Jonathan Bornstein. Gooch has got to go because they are better options in the middle of our D. Michael Bradley will be in South Africa and will deserve to be there when all is said and done.
Well all the players you mentions Kyle I think they will all be playing for the US in 2010. I'm hoping that some of the U17/20's all mature there games also, and improve the pool for the US to choose from.
micheal bradley is a good player and will DEVELOP LATER into a national team caliber player. but you can be serious as to say someone like ricardo clark isint a better fit at the position at this moment in time.
michael bradley was not good in the gold cup. he just didn't suck as bad as the competition. and i'll go after eddie johnson, jonathan bornstein, the gooch, taylor twellman, michael bradley and everyone else because i was not impressed even when they were winning. it was clear they were bad then and it was clear the coach had no clue then. it's always been clear. the people on bigsoccer are quick to jump on the bandwagon. the us beats guatemala and the usmnt is a top 10 team and bob bradley is a genius. the us loses to sweden and usmnt is trash and bob bradley must go. you people are unreal. was losing badly in copa america and then to sweden a big surprise? will it be a surprise when we lose to brazil and then possibly switzerland? no. was it a surprise when we beat guatemala and t&t? no. bob bradley has always been a relatively mediocre coach and the usmnt has always been a realitvely mediocre team.

Bob's doing a fine job with the talent at his disposal. I for one am glad he's had the gonads to start matriculating the youth in the program. We are rebuilding people. Results aren't as important right now as experience and chances created for young twenty somethings. Bradley has to be diplomat and careful with his words when spoken to the media, but I think off the record he'd be the first to tell you this team does not have the forwards and experience in midfield to compete with the top teams. Soon enough there will be balance. The 'has beens' and nothings will be weeded out and we'll have a first team with adequate depth soon enough.
Im not sure and still undecided but i see what your saying. I say we let him finish the rest if the year and see how he does. I want a great foreign coach as much as the next guy but right now we have Bradley and lets let him finish his busy schedule
Michael Bradley doesn't deserve a minute of time in the starting line up. There are other players in the MLS and abroad that deserve a look over Bradley's son. This is a clear case of nepotism which is one of my pet peeves. Bob Bradley needs to coach with his mind and not just with his heart. He needs to put the best players on the field not just the players he likes. I fear that with Bob Bradley the U.S might not be the best they can be. Bob Bradley is making me uncomfortable with his leadership so far but hopefully things will turn.
Why doesn't he deserve a minute in the starting lineup? Because you don't understand the composition of a talented, experienced, and already highly capable soccer player? There is not one more complete player in his position currently plugging away in the MLS that's not already involved with the setup.
I think the position that Bob played and will continue to play is called "catcher", SG just happensto be the "pitcher". I'm to lazy to look it up but wasn't BB the coach of the NY/NJ team when his son was on that team? If in fact doesn't that just further signify his favoritism?
Hmm, do you know why Michael Bradley is getting so much time as well as Bornstein? So they will qualify for a British Work Permit as soon as possible. It's going to be such a great coincidence if a British team comes-a-callin once they both reach the 75% mark. Wonder how Ricardo Clark is going to feel about that when he misses the mark and can't play for anyone over there?
For those claiming nepotism: if you think Michael Bradley doesn't deserve to be in the team, NAME A PLAYER that you think deserves his place. Other than Ricardo Clark, who has had almost as many minutes in that position. IMHO the player who needs to sit is Mastroeni, who has clearly lost a step. I'd be happy with any two of Clark, Bradley, and Feilhaber in central midfield. Who needs a reflex hammer when you've got BigSoccer?
The only reason most people can give that Bob Bradley is not a good coach is that he plays his son and Bornstein... Or you could just bash the Copa America performance...yes a real manager would have taken that side far, I'm sure. Perhaps you could poke holes in a 1-0 loss away to Sweden. I'm sure if we lose to Brazil you'll scream louder for Bob's head. Face facts: The US team is young. They are not that good right now. They have some rebuilding to do. They need to groom young players at key positions. THEY ARE GOING TO GET BEAT. Deal with it. Here's an exercise: Look at the starters from WCQ against Mexico in C-bus about 2 years ago compared to the starters for this summer's Gold Cup Final: Keller-----Howard Lewis-----Bornstein Onyewu---Onyewu Berhalter--Bocanegra Hejduk----Spector Armas----Mastroeni Reyna----Feilhaber Beasley---Beasley Ralston---Dempsey Donovan--Donovan McBride---Ching I'll let you derive what you will from this. Back to the point: Do I think Bob Bradley is the best choice for US manager? No. But if you'd like to start or participate in a thread about it, please try and come up with some valid arguments. Perhaps you should try analyzing his tactics from the Gold Cup, for instance. Calling for his head because he's playing young players is getting old. And by the way, we're going to lose to Brazil. They are the best in the world. You might as well start your thread now: "Bradley is da wurst icant believe we lost to brazil he sux" For our young players to get absolutely dominated against Brazil, at home, in the "clash of 'champions'" will be an invaluable experience in their careers. Just like Copa America.
Obviously, you've hit that one on the head. Who needs to try and build a team's core from scratch when you can worry about work permits that both players might have a great shot at circumventing anyway.
Sadly, that is almost certainly true. Add to that list, why was Bobby Convey rehabbing for USMNT against Sweden? Because when Bobby's current work permit runs out, he won't be able to renew it at the club level because he has not had met the minimum-appearance requirement. So he needs to reach the 75% mark for USMNT. Bobby's a good player, but I don't think it is worth messing around with USMNT rosters to take care of his personal needs. Ditto for those other guys, too.
I'd have to agree with the assessment that Bobby B. Sr. hasn't done a terrible job. It's tough to win alot of international matches without international-level strikers. I believe I see what Bob is trying to do with the team. He is clearly slowly building a team for the WC. He is toughening the core with difficult internationals away from the U.S. He is keeping a good mix of you and old, and is leaning more heavily on Euro-based players. I think all of these things are good for the USMNT. I also can't argue with the fact that he hasn't gotten pressured into putting Jozy into the mix just yet. The only issue I have is starting Junior so much, considering how raw he is. Then again, Junior is 19, and maybe gaining all this international experience will pay off for him and Senior once 2010 comes around. But it is keeping Clark from gaining that same experience, and Clark has shown that he is not flustered by tough international competition. I also like what Clark brings offensively. I can't even really argue with his leaning on Gooch so much, because our centerbacks are a bit weak right now.
Indeed he did. Silly me, I didn't put 2 + 2 together when scratching my head over why Bob Bradley for an otherwise Euro-based team would bypass multiple Euro-based fullbacks, so that he could fly in a U.S.-based player from L.A. The answer, of course, is 4. Work permit. Same as Arena did for Convey.
