Here is the YouTube clip of when he goes down during the game. He is at the far right of the screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFc25Hym6q8 22 years old, married, first child is on the way. Just terrible.
I am very, very sadden by this. I was watching the game live on GolTV when he collapsed. It looked very dramatic but then he stood up and left the field walking. From what I heard his heart stopped for awhile and he suffered some brain damage. This is terrible. A very sad day for Soccer.
I'm so saddened by this terrible loss... God bless his family, his young bride and his unborn baby... Puerta joins Marc Vivien Foe and Miki Fehrer as the most recent players to pass on suddenly playing the game they loved... There may be more to be heard from this case... the reporter on the one clip claims that Puerta had often suffered from dizzy spells in training sessions and was somewhat prone to dizzy spells or passing out... seems like there might have been some signs that something was wrong... i hope this isn't the case... i hope this sort of thing was more the csae of the unexplainable fragility of life... i hope this is not something that could've been prevented... God Bless Antonio Puerta and his family... rest in peace...
Marc Vivien Foe is also the first person I thought of when I was reading the thread. Foe, Fehrer, Puerta. Things come in threes.
