Isn't every year the year of the rumor?

That's quite possibly my favorite non-on the field part of soccer.

the incredibly insane rumors and how every single superstar is 'connected' to every team are fun fun fun.

And the 11th hour rumors such as Ronaldinho to Chelsea for 50 million pounds? Brought to you by such reputable sources such as tribal football and the Daily Mirror.

It's garbage. Seriously, I wouldn't rule out Ronaldinho leaving for AC Milan in the future, but not Chelsea, and not this summer.

I thought last year that Ronnie would head to Milan this year, and now I think he'll go next summer. But who knows? Maybe he will hang his hat at Barca -- btw, he is going to make a super weird-looking old dude, for sure -- but it'll be a miracle.

I enjoyed John Terry's comments that Ronaldinho would have to "learn his defensive duties" at Chelsea. I can't find the link but it's on the Guardian football page. Aaaaaand that's why Ronnie ain't stepping foot in Chelsea no how.

His brother can seriously shut up though.

    I don't get it.

What's in it for Ronaldinho to leave Barcelona ever? He has the chance to win league titles and CL's every year. and he's the cover boy of just about everything?

what more can he get out of AC Milan that he can't get out of Barca....i think the Chelsea rumors are stupid.

Are they promising to pay him more?

How about John Terry learns to dribble four defenders and score/set up goals...and then Ronaldinho will learn to defend?

    Seems fair to me.

Or Ronnie can just stay at Barca. And I'm with shoey...his brother can feel free to shut his coattail riding azz anytime he feels like it.

Are you trying to say Terry doesn't know how to score?
I mean, just because his brain is still rattling around in his cranium after that kick he received in the Carling Cup final last season as he came forward for a corner...

He can only score if someone mauls the golkeeper for him to open up room.

Yup, same here. That Terry goal and "deer in headlights" Gerard still piss me off to this day.

I don't know that I've ever been that hearbroken after any sporting event ever. I was a puddle of flesh on the ground after Terry's goal went in...all the life just went out of me for a good half hour.

But it did make the 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge just that much sweeter.

Sport says Motta to Atletico Madrid. No trasnfer fee reported but Motta is supposed to be in Madrid undergoing a medical today.

Hmmm, you think Barca's gonna slip Inter a special transfer fee on this move?

I hope his saga ends quietly and quickly.

Motta has been a loyal servant but at the same token Barca have given him many chances with inconsistent returns. Also, Motta takes a page out of the "Kluivert:How to deal with negative media" all too often and could easily be vilified leading to an exit out the back door of the camp nou.

There was one moment during the second half against Inter when the crowd jeered Motta for not getting to a ball that ran out of play. A bit sad to see that happen. Hope he does well at Atletico.

Speaking of Kluivert he is about to join Lille. I wish him the best of luck.
