Seeing as nuff_said appears to have forgotten about this game (due to his new found love for Wesley I guess)...I guess I'll start the thread. Kick Off is 22.00 Local time on Wednesday. Early news is that Higuain should be fit enough to take some part in the game. It also appears that Heinze and Robben will again take no part in the game. (According to AS they will not play until matchday 3 against Almeria).
It will be the our second timers who will play this game. Yeah robben and Henize are being saved. Robben more than Henize. As he has not trained with the team henize has. Does this game have the same problem as the other with international viewers?
AS says the same team as played Atleti will start the game...presumably with Metzelder rather than Cannavaro. I would though expect a lot of substitutions.
Is this game being played later than usual. I remember last few years being before the start of the season.
Why would we do that though, with the crucial away game at El Madrigal coming up, I wouldn't want to risk any of them, even for 45 mins. Besides, this is a good chance for the younger players like Adrian and Granero. I don't exactly know why it is being played later than usual, but as far as I can remember the Santiago Bernabeu trophy has been the curtain-raiser before the season, where the team is presented at the Bernabeu before the season gets underway...
haha @ nuff_said/wesley love triangle (thats right triangle .. horsey is involved somewhere ) BTW where is YS87?
I cant see Shuster doing this. We have a very hard game away at Villareal. I cant see him risking the players
Probably Baptista, Gago, Soldado, Saviola, Torres, Dudek will be in the starters .. Or maybe Sneijder might get make an appearance too ..
http://www.realmadrid.com/articulo/comunicado_oficial_42178.htm The match has been suspended as a mark of respect to Antonio Puerta.
Thread has been reopened because a poster has tickets for the game. If anyone has any info about refunds or a new date for the game, he'd welcome them.
Thank you so much. That poster is me. I am in Madrid with my girlfriend and we bought tickets to this match yesterday. It would be very unfortunate if I could not see this match, as I missed the Madrid Derbi due to missing my connection in the London airport. It didn´t help that the game was moved from the 26th to the 25th either. I just have no luck!! Anyways, any info would be helpful.
Any chance you can head on up to Valencia for the weekend game? . It'd add an unexpected twist to your romantic holiday
LOL I tried that already, but lets just say it wasn´t well received idea. She´s been really great so far, letting me basically max out my credit cards at the Real Madrid store in Sol and enduring the stadium tour (which was awesome), but I guess travelling for the weekend match was too much
So far all we have is the above official statement suspending the game and passing on the club's condolences...I think you may have to wait until tomorrow for further news...but I would guess any new date may be a little way off from now. If you are in Madrid anyway, it may be worthwhile taking a trip up to the ground tomorrow and asking in person...you can always do the stadium/museum tour and have a look around the club shop at the same time. Edit...sorry just read above post
Ouch. It hurts. It's so hard to read stories about girlfriends/wives who don't care about these things. What I would do for a bf who would take me on trips like this. Sorry to hear about your trip problems NYM10000, I was wondering if you were able to get into Madrid in time to go to the game. Argh. Following RM and Spanish football (this week more than others) with all the schedule changes, TV rights drama, and tragedy really takes some extra guts, effort, and patience.
My girl friend loved the tour of the Bernabeu - so much so that she wants to come back and see a game. I'm hoping it wasn't so she could get a closer inspection of Sergio Ramos.
My ex saw Torres in a World CUp match and made me buy her an atleti poster with him on it. My hands almost burned off as I was paying for it. No wonder shes my ex. She was also a big fan of Casillas though, thats always good.
