Sevilla's 22 year old midfielder Antonio Puerta has died in ICU after collapsing on the pitch and in the dressing room on Saturday. He apparently went into cardiac arrest, and had to be resuscitated before even getting to the hospital. He was on a ventilator at the hospital but I guess whatever happened was just too severe. RIP Antonio, 22 is way too young. I knew it was bad as soon as I saw it happen in the game and he simply collapsed and started convulsing and the medics were holding his mouth open and grabbing his tounge.
Bears are on my watch list. I'm thinking about a threatdown. Nice irony to the Denilson press. He is the fourth World Cup winner to play in MLS, well as long as Metro/Bulls count as an actual MLS team, as the three previous, Mattheus, Branco, and Jerkyaoff, all played in the Swamp. Here's hoping the hoops benefit just as much from the addition of their Cup winner. But I doubt it.
Amazing that this dude had accomplished more by 22 than most players in their whole lifetimes... Back to Back UEFA Champ, Copa del Rey, SuperCopa, National Team player, etc. And he had a lot of potential still. Very very sad.
He apparently leaves behind a 22 year old girlfriend who is due to give birth in 5 weeks. This story is just profoundly sad.
You need to get a gig in the Catskills. I got this agent, you’ll love him, his name’s Broadway Danny Rose….
