The Rapids will take on the Crew. This is a key game going down the stretch and IMO a must win.

Three wins at home is one thing, a win on the road for this team is something else. Let's see if this team has really been transformed or if we're just back to the same old same old.

Pablo is going to have his hands full with Columbus' little Argentinian.

Barring injuries or other disruption, same lineup, take it to the bank.

Who knows at this point. I wouldn't be shocked with a 0-4 loss nor would I be shocked with a 2-0 win.

I think you have to play the same starting 11...we will see if FC has learned anything. Huge, HUGE game here, folks. This will tell us all we need to know.

Haven't followed the Crew for much of the season but I was suprised to see they got a result against Houston after being down a man for more than 50+ minutes.

It's gonna be a huge test for the hometown Rapids.

Crew-Rapids games have historically been snooze-fests. With this much on the line, it's going to be tight all over the field. I'm seeing a 1-1, 0-0 game, maybe 1-0 but whoever wins, it won't be by more than a goal.

It's just that kind of game. If Colorado can capitalize on their chances like they have recently, then they have a shot. Otherwise, I'm seeing the teams splitting the points.

This is the lineup I think might be played, hopefully we wont see Niko at all. Its been nice not watching him play on the pitch the last few matches...

Especially considering that the Altitude announcers will be calling the game from a studio in Denver with nothing but the same feed we're watching. Ah well, guess we should just be happy the games are on TV unlike last year.

The Crew have not been very hot lately. Since the All Star game they have been 1-2-2. The are 5-2-4 at home, though.

If the Rapids have truly turned some kind of corner, this would be a good time to show it. I think if the team continues with its solid midfield play, we can win this one. Just, please FC, don't have a relapse and let Niko on the field.

So are we watching it at the Bulldog, or at Casey's???

I think the Bulldog is a much more deserving place. But thats just one mans opinion...

In order to squeak in the playoffs, the Rapids will need to win at least 2 of their remaining 5 away games: (Columbus, LA Galaxy, Salt Lake, Chivas, New England)
My Picks are Columbus and Salt Lake... They could tie 3 and win 1 but I don't think that will happen.
The Rapids will also need to win the final 3 home games: (Chivas, Toronto and Salt Lake).
Chivas will be the real problem at home.
    Columbus is a must-win.

    This is do-able but unlikely.
    15 + 27 = 42 points and 8th spot.

Yup, stick with a winner, though Erpen will most likely play centrally.

The is Clavijo learning question.... Will Clavijo continue the trend of moving Kirovski to midfield in the second half? Has it achieved anything?

I think our midfield is killer right now.

With an excellent right mid, excellent new left mid, PABLO in the back of the diamond, and we've yet to see how mehdi can really open up. Either he's overly aggressive or overly conservative.

I predict that since our records are even, and we're tied for the last playoff space, that both teams will come out playing hard. I expect to see a 2-2 tie, or a 0-0 tie.

    Yes and no.

If the team is ahead, I see no reason to put Jovan in midfield. I would replace him with Omar, giving the team that break away threat. If someone is tiring in the midfield, I would (in addition to giving them more road work the next week ;)) either replace them with someone like LaBrocca or remove a forward and put in Cancela to clog things up. Jose won't add defense but as an additional midfielder he would add passing options.

Edit: I suspect FC believes making the Jovan move has achieved the objective of keeping locking up the win. Looking at the scoreboard, he's right. Watching the team struggle controlling ball suggests there may be a better way.

Irked that on night where Casey's wanted to "appeal" to we supporters as a place to watch the game, the Final Four basketball game was on the biggest of the TVs, with the footy relegated to the little screens behind the bar.

    Mighty Casey's has struck out.

What trend? If you are the coach, and you are up by 3 goals in a must win game, you bring in Gomez to add a little offensive speed up top, you push Jovan back to play defensive mid and you brings Tony in to give the defense a little more help on the back line. IMHO.... If you expect to win, you have to use your head and change tactics as the situation dictates.

To me it's a no brainer, with a 3 goal lead, you pack it in at the back and play defensively until your opponent over commits in his attack, and then you win one back on a quick counter attack. Casey came pretty close to doing just that in that 2nd half.

I just hope to see Kirovski starting each game for the rest of the season as an attacking forward, and ending each game as a defensive mid... If it ain't broke don't fix it.....Ya gotta keep the faith.....
