Last time we gutted out a tie on the road a man down at the conference leaders during a tough stretch (3-3 at NE) we came back home to beat KC 2-1 on our way to winning 4 out of 5. I think we win this 2-0, maybe 3-1.

Every streak must come to an end. I say Colorado's hot streak ends in Columbus.

Sigi will have them ready this week. Crew will win 1-0. Defense will be focused, Szetela will have popped out of the doldrums and play like is is capable of as a late sub. Sigi will realize that its best to let Rogers run loose than experiment with Virtuoso. The entire team will step up at the end to deny a late minute stinker.

Three goals? Are we playing a double-header? I fear this has all the makings of an ugly 0-0 affair which, with our central D, may be a blessing.

This better not be a 0-0 ugly game. Because, as we all know, getting 3 points on Colorado would be nice, it would be see RBNY take out the F!re.

I'm thinking 2-1 good guys. This match will start to get us back on track.

I no longer expect the crew to hold off both the Fire and the Rapids. I think they're better bet is to hold off one of the two and overtake KC.

I'm weary about Gonzo serving suspension with chad out injured, but if the boys can't get up for this game and gut out a win here, then it might be time to look toward next season.

    2-1 good guys.

I see a 2-1 Crew win. But that could just be the jet lag talking (I'm in San Antonio this week....)

I'm not one of these mindless morons that always says our biggest game is our next one, but THIS IS THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON.

If Colorado comes in and takes this one, then it's time to start hyping the Blue Jackets.

So you are saying we need to throw this game to get in a better draft position?;)
Since Ezra is our only central defender left... maybe we should play three in the back since, you know, that would mean only one central defender. Right? I guess that lack of defense would be less scary if we had any kind of offense at the moment. Yikes.

I will still go but I will kick myself for doing so. How bad is it when a trip to Springfield sounds more appealing than going to watch a Crew game? :(

I have to drive FROM Springfield to every game... come now, I know on paper our D looks a little shaky, but have some faith man.

After all, who thought we'd hold Houston to only one goal while a man down??

So what happens in the case that we tie Colorado again? Who would have the playoff spot? It was my understanding that in the complicated case of a tie, both teams would be disqualified and be replaced with a Commissioner's pick, which would be the Galaxy.

    http://ww2.mlsnet.com/about/league.jsp?section=regulations&content=playoffs

    TEAM-STANDINGS TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES

The team awarded the highest position in the MLS standings will be the team with the greatest number of points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss). In the event that two teams finish the regular season with an equal number of points, the following system will be used to break the tie:
    1. The highest position shall be awarded to the team with the better win/loss record in current regular season games against all other teams equal in points. (head-to-head competition)
    2. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the highest position shall be awarded to the team with the greater goal difference against all other teams during the regular season. (goal differential)
    3. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the highest position shall be awarded to the team scoring the greatest number of total goals against all other teams during the regular season. (total goals)
    4. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the procedures described in this section shall be applied only to games played on the road by each team against all other teams during the regular season. (road 1-3)
    5. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the procedures described in this section shall be applied only to games played at home by each team against all other teams during the regular season. (home 1-3)
    6. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the highest position shall be awarded to the team with the fewest team disciplinary points in the League Fair Play table during the regular season.
    7. If the teams are still equal in the standings, the highest position in the standings shall be determined by the toss of a coin.

Actually, we sorta are playing a double-header. Don't forget about the reserve match at 5pm in Crew stadium right after the game!

Still, good guys 2-1 in the main game.

Team showed some real heart in a couple games this year

3-3 tie with New England (comeback from 3-1)

1-1 tie last week at Houston (down a man with 50 minutes to go).

I say the Crew will pull off a big win this weekend. 2-0.

    Dude,
You are lagging!! Crew 2-1? If someone can pick up the slack left behind by Marcos not anchoring the back line due to the Red Card in Houston, then it is possible.... Good chance for Tim Ward to step up and fill in. I hope Ezra has all the lazy play out of his system, no more gift goals to the visitors please!!!

The next two really are the biggest of the year. If we take Colorado and the F*re, we can start selling playoff tickets. If we lose them both it's deep and dark.

Sorry, but in the last two weeks I've spent a night in California, a night in Hawaii, a night in Guam, another in Cali, two in Columbus, four in South Dakota, three in Columbus, and now two (so far) in Texas. It's starting to catch up with me.
