I'd like to have a post every week for the upcoming games, so I thought I'd post this one, so we all have a bit of time to exchange some ideas.

Thought that Salihamidzic was wasted in his more defensive role, so would be good to push him a bit higher up the park in a right wing role, I was impressed by his pre-season role in this position. To my knowledge Cammo is still not completly fit so I think he should play some sort of role of the bench. I would put on Zebina (shudders) as a right flank, I think he'll play a role in the team till Zebina returns.

Iaquinta had a good game last week, even though his two gaols weren't entirely due to his individual briliance, he put in the right type of effort and I think

Noccerino seemed impressive so I am going to go with him again, although I think Tiago will be breathing down his kneck and will come of the bench at one stage.

I would draw back Almoroin, just slightly, I do mean extremly slightly, into a CM role, by that logic, Noccerino would do the "dirty" work such as winning tackles etc, with Almoroin providing a bit more creativity in regards to passing etc.

With subs up front, if the game is still in question bring on il capitano, however if it's the 60th minute and we are looking comfortable, I would opt to give Palladino a bit of a run.

    Awesome result last week!

    -----------------Buffon-------------
    Zebina---Andrade---Cristico---Chiellini
    Salihamidzic--Noccerino--Almoroin---Nedved
    -------------Iaquitina--------------------
    ---------------------Trezeguet----------

With subs, I think Tiago on for Noccerino or Almorin depending how the game is going and Cammo on for Salihanidzic. Up front Del Piero on for either Iaquinta or Trezeguet.

In the two times that Salihamidzic has played right back Juventus have managed to score 5 goals in both games. In the other games they lost or tied and had problems scoring. I say stick with what has been working so far until it does not work anymore.

I would be intrigued to see a Del Piero-Iaquinta pair up front. They're both good, and we'll need plenty of firepower against Cagliari, who's defense is pretty strong, and is tricky on the counterattack.

I would choose Camoranesi over Salih-, and so construct a pretty offensive midfield against Cagliari.

I'm thinking it should be a 2-0 win.

I also think Del Piero is better than Iaquinta, however I think that we need to adopt some type of rotation between the strikers. The only reason I would start with Iaquinta is because I believe that if a player has a good game, they should get rewarded with a starting position the next week. Del Piero is also very good as an "impact" player.

Good point, although it's not his natural position, I'm really not a big fan of Zebina's ability.

I'm not sure about that one, Cammo might not be fit by then. If your thinking of a pretty attacking team, what would you think about a trident of strikers? Since Caglari are likely to play on the counter attack we might be able to take a person out of the midfield?

I'd start ADP. I like the idea of Iaquinta as a super-sub and his pace will be handy towards the end. If Cagliari is smart and we start Zebina, it wouldn't surprise me if i sardi manage to let Foggia tear that left-wing apart. Hopefully Camo can be fit and then we can play Sali as a right-back, not Zebina.

I would leave Zebina on the bench as well as Iaquinta. Salihamidzic should play on the back, he finally fills up the gap where we always used to have crap players. Zebina was never up to Juve standard. Hopefully Camo can play on the flank, if not we should try and fit in Tiago.

My preferred line up would be:
    ----------------------------Buffon--------------------------------------

Salihamidzic--- Andrade --- Criscito ---- Chiellini

    Camoranesi --- Tiago ---- Almiron --- Nedved

    Del Piero------------------------Trezeguet

if these players are not fit I would go for:

    ----------------------------Buffon--------------------------------------

Salihamidzic--- Andrade --- Criscito ---- Chiellini

    Zanetti --- Nocerino ---- Almiron --- Nedved

    Del Piero------------------------Trezeguet

Zannetti as a right wing, nah can't see that happening.

The only reason why I would start Iaquinta is because I would want to start Del Piero in the Coppa Italia, so we need some type of rotation system.

Del Piero is not going to play in the Coppa Italia tomorrow. He is nursing a slight injury

Thought he would have been cleared. Yeah in that case, seeing that Iaquinta will have a 99% chance of starting, then I would say that I would in that case go for Del Piero.

I totally back track on my decision to have Zebina at right back, after giving away that penalty

I'm really curious if Zebina will be in the starting line against Cagliari...

Let's hope for another victory, dear Juventini! ;)

Here's the call-ups for the match against Calgari

    1 - Gianluigi Buffon
    3 - Giorgio Chiellini
    4 - Sergio Bernardo Almiron
    5 - Jonathan Zebina
    6 - Cristiano Zanetti
    7 - Hasan Salihamidzic
    8 - Mauro Camoranesi
    10 - Alessandro Del Piero
    11 - Pavel Nedved
    12 - Emanuele Belardi
    14 - Jorge Andrade
    17 - David Trezeguet
    18 - Jean Alain Boumsong
    19 - Domenico Criscito
    20 - Raffaele Palladino
    23 - Antonio Nocerino
    24 - Ruben Olivera
    28 - Cristian Molinaro
    30 - Tiago Cardoso Mendes
    31 - Cristiano Novembre
    33 - Nicola Legrottaglie

Iaquinta is noteably out, as he was ill last night according to Ranieri, so my pick for the starting 11 would go like this

    -------------------------Buffon--------------------------------------
    Hasan Salihamidzic------Andrade-----Cristico----------Chiellini
    Mauro Camoranesi-----Noccerino/Zanetti-----Almoroin---Nedved
    -----------------------------DP-------------------------------
    --------------------------------Trezeguet--------------------

I didn't find Tiago that impressive against Parma, but it's still early days. I think he can play some type of role of the bench. With Nedved, Chiellini and Cristco having a rest mid-week, they should be nice and fresh to play the whole 90 minutes. I think Cammo is ready to start in this match, and I would put Hasan further back down the field, because of Zebina giving away a penalty last match. Del Piero was also rested during the week because of a minor injury but according to Ranieri he should be fine to play, so I think he can start with the possiblity of Palladino coming on for him.

Cagliari have actually been the better team so far. Their players seem younger and faster..... Zebina has been pretty poor and our best chance Del Piero didn't move quick enough to reach it properly.

Some pace needs to be injected.

Gahhhh, Del Piero almost did a similar thing to what Paul Gascoigne did against Scotland in Euro 96. The keeper came out and Del Piero dinked it over his head, but then he missed the shot after when the ball came back down, with an open goal.

Its sad to see a true legend starting to fade.... looks like Palladino is warming up.

What is fading? He made a good play but did not finish. How often does that happen in a match? It was disappointing that he did not score but that is part of the game.

Del Piero has been terrible all game, he needs to take some time off. The defense is looking a bit shakey too and it's making me nervous.

Goal by Trez, thank f**k for Camoranesi coming on and having a bit of hunger to make it happen.

EDIT - Noooo penalty to Cagliari now, which shouldn't have been given.

Good to see Trez score but Zebina is an idiot. Everyone has been critical of him and now I know why he is as hated as Boumsong. He is so clumsy and stupid. Usually I don't focus on defenders and how they play but now I'm convinced that he needs to go.

ADP isn't playing badly. The only problem is that he lacks place and he is getting old. The touch is still there but he needs to be constructive.

Its not just that we have been poor(ish), Cagliari have looked really sharp. I can fully understand how they beat Napoli now.

Since coming on Camoranesi has been Juve's best outfield player IMO. Zebina, however... would make a great Serie D player.

Thank God for Cammo! He's really put in a man of the match effort (IMO), setting up two of the goals from coming in off the bench.

We were lucky to get out of this one with all 3 points, even though two of our goals were through penalties, we have not looked good this match.

He showed his worth today Camoranesi. Juve was lucky to get 3 points here but that is what counts. Zebina and Legrottaglie are a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe Ranieri will get is now that these 2 can't play and will stick
Salihamidzic at right back permanetly now the Camoranesi seems to be in shape to play. On to the next game but how much more fun would this team be to watch if they had Rossi and Giovinco who we own instead of Del Piero and Nedved.
