With the wildfires in Greece, second one this year through same area. I would imagine his MI-13 squads have kept very still. I mean. If all rednecks are southren and all Gangs are very poor until a traffic stop. This Attonery General must have ties to Africa and corporate means. Like in the movies!

Excellent news. Too bad it didn't happen sooner, and too bad the Democrats didn't seriously consider impeachment to cause it to happen sooner.

I wonder who Bush will appoint to be Gonzo's replacement. Who can he find that will be loyal to him and his neo-con agenda???

Whoever it is I look forward to the confirmation hearings. Perhaps the post will remain vacant until the recess appointment.

Over on the Volokh Conspiracy, they've been reporting for the last week that AGAG's resignation was imminent and that Chertoff is the most likely replacement.

I think Bush will push a recess appointment. The timing on this is a little too convenient.

Why would Bush even bother with a recess appointment? Its not like Congress has yet shown any ability to stand up to the Prez.

Maybe in matters of legislation, where they can't override his veto, but appointments are another issue. The Dems could drag the confirmation hearings on indefintely.

I'll miss his incompetent testimony. It didn't get any crappier than that from the head of the Justice Dept., America's so-called "top lawyer."

Reid and Bush reached an agreement that there'd be no recess appointments this August. It's not a deal that Bush will go back on.

I'd expect a former Senator; probably someone close with the Bush 41 administration.

What does Reid get out of the deal? Having Gonzalez resign during recess doesn't sound like much of a bargain for the Dems.

I predict he's leaving to spend more time with his family.

By which I mean he'll be going on news shows to smear anyone who opposed him. Just a hunch.

Just for shits and giggles, who was the worse AG: Gonzo or John Mitchell. I think Gonzo in a landslide.
