Remember Fire Sigi? The Galaxy did fire Sigi when the team was in First Place and hasn't done as well since. Sigi got fired even after the team won the MLS Cup in 2002.

Remember Fire Sampson? The Galaxy did fire Sampson after the team won the MLS Cup in 2005 with a lot of luck, thank God.

Now fire Yallop. True the team is playing like S hit and some thing needs to be done and done quickly. But is firing Yallop the answer? I think the players need to sit down and look how they are playing and learn how to make goals and not just get close, that doesn't count.

But like I have said many times before it is the players who are not making goals and not winning games, not the coach.

The one that needs to be fired is the one that traded (fired) Kevin, Herc, Tyrone, Josh, and Robbie Findley. All have gone on to their new teams and look at what the Galaxy lost, and look at where the Galaxy is now- 2nd to last place.

    Remember "Don't Fire Sigi?"

That was the cry of many a supporter.

Remember "For God's Sake, Please Do Not Hire Sampson?"

Unless you're an intelligent designer, I'm sure you can see how that naturally evolved into the "Fire the Living Shit Out Sampson Like Yesterday, Bitches," mantra.

Yallop has had some bad breaks. But Lalas, Yallop or whoever has made some very bad personnel decisions. And I'm sorry, but taking our only class defender off the back line and putting him in midfield is right up there with selecting Theo Walcott for the World Cup for sheer footballing boneheadedness.

The players are definitely not performing. But there is a lot of blame to go around.

Me, I'm looking to the S'Liga final and next year. The off season better some changes either in the roster, the front office, or both.

Re: Fire Sigi- Fire Sampson- Fire Yallop

Sampson was fired for a very good reason. The Galaxy only made the playoffs in 2005 bc there wasn't any possibile way that they could've done worse than RSL or Chivas that way. That's the only reason. And it was unimaginably lucky that Pando pulled thru and won it for u that year. Anyway, as I recall, LA was in horrible shape after Schmid left. Horrible all thru 2005, and horrible up until he was finally fired. His firing was very legitimate, bc he made a lot of tactically bad decisions.

Yallop, however, I don't believe is fully to blame. When Landon or Pavon head a ball 10 feet high when they have an open net in front of him, that says more about how much they suck. The team gifted them with those opportunities, and they couldn't do anything about it. Yallop can't control it when a player has an open goal and still can't put it in. So, I'd blame the players more than anything. Most of them are not playing at a professional level. They don't have heart, and they simply don't know how to play the game of soccer. The roster itself probably is a result of Lalas' meddling more than Yallop.

Oh, so it's Yallop's fault that Landon and Pavon can't find net when it's right in front of them?

what we've been missing for a long, long time is consistency. we freak out fire a coach, trade a bunch of players, hope for the best.

when a new coach comes in he unloads a bunch of players and brings in his players. it takes time for the players to get used to each other, but by that time the fans and aeg are restless so either the GM makes a bunch of panic trades or the coach is sacked and we start all over again.

by inserting bravo as our DOS, the GM will no longer have the ability to buy or sell players (theoretically) and neither will the coach. i'm sure they'll all have a say in the matter, but ultimately it's bravo's decision. any coach, be it frank or someone new will have to work within our system.

now if we could just keep tim liewke from having anymore brilliant marketing ideas.

Sorry Tequila, I kinda have to agree with Mario on this one (even tho he is from SJ). Yallop has shown he's a quality coach (unfortunately not for us...yet). Im not convinced that Yallop had as much to do with the merry-go-round of players as another...high up..coughcoughLALAScoughcough. You've also got to figure in injuries (which have decimated what would be a competative starting line up).

For me, the only way I can see Yallop keeping his job is if we win SL on weds. and make the playoffs next year. If neither of those happen ill jump on the fire yallop bandwagon too...Id be quicker to jump on the fire lalas ship than yallop at this point.

For now, Id say give Yallop some time. Give him a healthy starting line and DB from the start of the season. Let the core gel and DONT let lalas make any more impulsive trades.

PS: How many DP spots are we using right now??

Our players lack fundamental skills that are sharpened through practice. It is well documented by other supporters that the practices appear to be done at half pace and with little to no intensity. This is a fundamental problem and is the fault of the coach.

Beckham was played a full 90 after a full 90 the night before thousands of miles away on a bum ankle. Who the F thought that was a good idea? I don't care if Beckham says he feels good and can do it....the coach should know it's a bad idea and keep his time at 45 minutes at the most. Almost everyone here knew he shouldn't play at all against Chivas...let alone the entire match. After the game Yallop says...I shouldn't have done that....yea..no #@#$ sherlock. This is a classic example of Yallop lacking the leadership necessary to sit Beckham regardless of what anyone else thinks. This was a BAD coaching decision.

Additionally, and this is less scientific, but Yallop shows no leadership on the sidelines. To me he looks lost and overwelmed. His tactics and in game decisions many times don't make much sense. I'm no coach so for the most part I have deferred to his abilities. Well, at this point I'm coming to the conclusion that his abilities are just not very good. Again, these are marks of poor coaching.

I don't think it is a good idea to get another coach and agree that we will be starting over again, but Yallop is not the guy for the job. The players have not done their part but I believe (among lots of other reasons as well) that poor practicing leads to poor play in games. Might as well start fresh right after the Superliga final and see if we can't start getting ready for next year.

I have not been keen on firing Yallop but I see nothing in him that tells me he has the qualities to lead this team. I don't know who we are going to find but we need someone with an ego and a track record to back that ego to lead this team. Whoever we find needs to tell Lalas and Co to shut the #$@% up and let him do his job.

Re: Fire Sigi- Fire Sampson- Fire Yallop

All that talk about the players having to step up is all crap. It's the job of the coach to push them to the point where they are producing on the field, keep in mind they are professionals. Just like the cries of the past to fire the others and AEG did, now they (AEG) need BALLS and get these two joakers out and try to get some respect back in to the club. Lalas failed the club, the fans, the league and him self and as for Yallop he failed to push the team and put the right player combo together on the field. If any group of the Galaxy staff that needed firing, it is the Lalas, Yallop combo now...just look at the bad job Lalas did in New York and look at where they are today, hell things improved as soon as Lalas was out of there!!! The Galaxy need a coach that can handle the lights and preassure of having a high profile team and Lalas and Yallop seems to be star struck like a couple of deers in the head lights of a on coming car!

If Galaxy did not fire Sigi, they would be in a better place right now. Lalas would probably not be around and Sigi would be the coach of the National Team.

Fire Lalas. Better yet, fire Lalas and string up a thin piece of razor wire in the doorway as he exits it.

2nd half Colorado leads 3 - 0 with 68:25 left to go! There will be a big shake up this week, AEG will have to step in and make some changes. The Galaxy will have to win every game to make the playoffs now. Not looking good at all and the Galaxy can't afford at this rate to wait until next year or season end to make the changes needed.

Borderline trolling here so I apologize.

How in the hell can you guys take this crap?

I'm not really a fan of LA but this is even making me sick to my stomach.

Get rid of Lalas now. Get rid of Yallop at the end of the season.

Lalas has to have photos of Uncle Phil in bed with a donkey. That's the only explanation for his continued employment -- nay, being sought out to run LA after he'd already ruined two teams previously.

Don't forget the schedule makers. The Galaxy were set up for failure, and it has come to be. An MLS team can not play every three days for weeks on end, and it does not get any better. Those brainiacs who thought this schedule was a great idea, are almost as much to blame as the Galaxy staff who agreed to it....

Re: Fire Sigi- Fire Sampson- Fire Yallop

I don't think Yallop has proven he is a quality coach. He had a few good years with San Jose but maybe he also got lucky with a few moves and players. Subsequently he became Canadian national team coach and was a complete and utter failure in this position. He proved incompetent, unable to form tactics that suited the team, called up poor squads in a completely unethical way (ie. playing former teammates, buddies and favourites while not even calling players who could compete with them for jobs who under any other coach would have been starters) and was extremely slow in adapting to international soccer. We not only failed to make the Hex in WCQ but finished last in our qualifying group. After 1st and 3rd place Gold Cup finishes under his predecessor under Yallop we failed to get out of the group stage. All this with the most talent ever available to a national team coach, something shown by our recent Gold Cup performance under an interim coach with less than our full A squad available.

Yallop was the consumate politician during his tenure, blaming the players for his failures and never showing leadership or taking on the CSA to get better conditions for the players and more friendlies. Then above all, after finally getting a couple of decent results in two years, a tie with the US (with both sides fielding B squads) and a victory over in Austria he ignobably and suddenly abandons the team to coach LA, a step down from being a national team coach (my opinion is he already knew about the coming Beckham deal and wanted to boost his career by being Beckhams coach because Yallop is certainly a careerist). If I were LA I would get rid of him immediately. As happy as I was that he left our national team it would still be his just desserts for abandoning the team.

As much as I hate to defend the galaxy.... in a way... but was all this really needed? Pavon & Donovan are def. Target fowards, thats Alan Gordon's Job... he's the guy who misses the Goal every time lol. Pavon had a couple nice goals via headers, in the NY Game.

As For winning the MLS cup, in 2005, they won it because, they played 10x harder than the other teams, during the Playoff series. They finally molded together in the MLS Cup Playoffs, witch played benefit to them, because other teams probably underestimated them. There was no luck. Pando had an excellent rebound shot that got them the cup, i wont deny that.

Next time, lets not come over here and start making statements that will result in getting flamed, and making us SJ fans look bad :(.

I agree, get rid of Yallop and Lalas immediately. Yallop coming to LA was a Lalas call because of their relationship back in SJ a few years back, now AEG must do the right thing by the fans and get rid of the both of them. They are not just hurting the fan base in LA, but they are also hurting the profile of the MLS. The Galaxy is the most written about and watched MLS team world wide and by the way they are playing with the biggest star in the sport can't be good for the league. Getting rid of these two guys immediately, is to long!!!!!

Yallop will cut himself from the club this week, and Jürgen Klinsmann the former Germany National team coach will take the lead of the Galaxy... Jürgen Klinsmann can handle high profile players like David Beckham and can handle the spot light!
