    When is Hammarby's next match?

Any reports from Sweden about Charlie's appearance, albeit short, in the USA v Sweden match.

And on that note, how do you guys in Sweden feel the game went? Are Sweden fans happy with the result and performance?

    Forza Bajen ;)

Version 3.0? So is this like the Windows Vista of Charlie Davies threads?

Next match is on the 25th, away to Brommapojkarna.

    U.S. Forward CHARLIE DAVIES

    On playing against Sweden:

"It’s an honor for me. For me to play the match in Sweden where I play professionally is the best of both worlds. It’s kind of a disappointment that we lost because I think we deserved a goal, but now I just have to back to my club and keep working hard so I can get back here."

I have no doubt Charlie will score before we get another 500 posts in this thread.

But let's not hurry with the posting, just in case.

Charlie is not in the squad for tomorrow's game. Have no idea why, 'cause according to reports he's in full training, so I think we're all a bit surprised... There's no explanation at hammarbyfotboll.se either, I guess everyone else in the squad have just been better than him.

Perhaps he's still a bit bleary-eyed from all the recent travel.

You guys are living on the edge, that is just a 136 posts away, especially since he isn't playing for at least another six days :(. I'm happy he'll score before we start the "Official Charlie Davies News/Updates Thread 4.0 (or is it 3.1?)"

Weekend is closing in, have a good one!

Why don't we all agree to a moratorium on silly posts that advance the postcount without advancing the thread?

    ....

    D'oh!

    :)

Where am I supposed to hang out during work hours when I can't post silly threads in here? Especially since CD is mysteriously missing in tomorrows squad

But I agree with last poster and will go get some coffee instead.

Bad news for CD. Hammarby plays well and has score 2 goals after 60 minutes today. One of the goals done by a forward and the other one by a midfielder.

Charlie Davies was outside the squad without explanation, in yesterdays 2-0 victory over Brommapojkarna. Hammarby was great in first half and the 2-0 lead should have been at least 3-0.
The second half was mighty boring but mighty efficient, as usuall, when coach Tony wants to close the deal.

I wonder if Charlie is felling well, mentaly, in a different country half around the world (well...) from home.
He really needs to score, but if he does not make it to the pitch it will never hapen.

I am loosing my faith and am afraid that he will be our worst sign up since the famous yugoslavians in the late 90:th. Not because he does not have the talent, but because he does not have the currage needed so far away from his own world at home.
Maybe he should have stayed in the MLS league after all...?

You could be right. However, I would hate to see him give up so soon if being Europe were his dream.

Coach about CD from Expressen http://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/1.813283/sagar-sin-stjarna

    Quick translation

    Criticizes his star

In the national team last Wednesday - not even on the bench yesterday

And now does the forced up new player Charlie Davies get tough criticism from the coach Tony Gustavsson - who says the American does not "give 100 percent" in the training sessions:

    - Now Charlie must put on a bigger focus around hard practice! He played from start against Halmstad in the league. And as late as last Wednesday did he came in as a substitute in the friendly between USA and Sweden at Ullevi.

But when Bajen finally tog their first away victory for the season against Brommapojkarna at Stadion yesterday was Davies not even on the Bench.

_ He was ousted said Tony Gustavsson afterwards

    ”It has become a hype”

    Gustavsson continues:
    – It has become a hype regarding Charlie, that he should be a success transfer but I've not contributed to that hype.
    - Unfortunately did it become to big expectations last winter, and Charlie has suffered from that.

    How do you handle it?
    – Individual talks are the most important. To make him aware what is needed and. Explain to him that he has the time do develop. Don't put to much pressure on him to perform.

But Gustavsson does also say that he expects more from his young American.
    - Vi put high demands that he, like everyone else, shall give 100% every training sessions to develop.

    Has he done that?
    – No he hasn't. And that is something we have been talking about. You have to be modest for the task and deserve the respect from you team mates and coach by working hard.
    – All it is about is to change his attitude towards training sessions.

We have a very good dialogue
    Gustavsson continues:
    – Now we have had a very good dialogue and I know he has also have had a good discussion with his national team coach (Bob Bradley).
    – Charlie know what is demanded. It is about maturing in all different ways and it is our duty to support him in that process.

    No good news.
Coach Tony dont think that Charlie has the right mindset on the training sessions and therefor he was not in the squad yesterday.

A player that dont feel he has to perform on the training session should not be in the squad, and niether in Hammarby fotball club. Hope Charlie gets his act together.

I think he is just young and not used to the professional world and suddenly face the reality of not being the star without hard work, I think the situation is under control

I did wonder right from the start about whether Sweden was ideal for him. He is definitely a little bit latin in his soccer style. He is small, clever and likes to dribble. You think his style can fit in?
