The way the team is playing as a whole, I bet Freddy is going to get his fair share of opportunities to play.

I think somebody said earlier that adu should get loaned out to get playing time, I think that maybe he should be given a chance b/c from what I've seen today, I think he could fair better than some of the guys out there and deserves at least a shot to play a few games to see how he fits in...

a chorus of boos from Benfica supporters as the whistle blows. Don't worry about Freddy. he is going to get his chance to sink or swim.

Freddy will get his chances, but surely they will buy some players too.

Such a horribler squad, way to many average or shitt yplayers.

luis filipe and bergessio are two clowns..the biggest shits ive ever seen at benfica since the days of souness.

adu is miles better then those two even without positional and off the ball intelligence.

we need a whole sale cleanout and actually get some decent players, and not the craps were linked with mostly.

Adu will get his chance soon hopefully, id aslready rather play him then filipe and bergessio, two simply horrible players who cant control a pass properly.

You'll get your chance to see Freddy in action. Will you then be howling in dismay when he proves he's a boy among men? What happens when he is playing regularly for the juniors by February? What will everyone think then?

Freddy will get his chance. Today's horrible result is probably the best thing for him. Camacho will throw him in, unless Freddy cops the prima donna role he is afflicted with. But will he swim, or does he sink?

Is Leixoes any better a squad than the Red Bulls or DC United? Give me a break. I doubt Adu will help Benfica much this year.

Hell yeah. MLS doesn't even have class players like Vieirinha, Paulo Machado.

LMAO have you even see Vieirinha play?

Yes yes, a player voted mvp ahead of cesc fabregas is shit.

yes yes our biggest star abnd most important player of our u21 squad the past 2 years ahead of the likes of nani and manuel fernandes, who when injured our squad did horrible at the u21 euros, which shows enough of his quality and importance, is a horirble player that cant play in the mls.

Paulo amchado is lightyears ahead of any central midfielder in the mls, you cant even compare.

I guess thats why he was u17/u18 euro champion with portugal and voted to team of the tournement both times and porto will be using him as starter next season.

    Agreed.

But let me ask you this question, Q: Let's say you put all the MLS teams into Portugal. Over the course of a season, what do you think would happen? Would Porto and Sporting and Benfica finish in first place? Okay, let's say you're right about that. And let's say that Toronto and RSL finish last, or among the dregs. I have no quarrel with that. But in the middling 20, isn't it safe to say that the balance of MLS teams would do better than the balance of Portuguese teams?

theres only 16 teams in the portuguese league:(

it depends, mls squads as a whole dont play as quick pace with technical skill..but each one has a quality player or two that can make a difference.

I doubt they'd finish last though, but prob just below midtable. I can see the best mls club being in the top 6/7 teams though

And yes i agree...teams like leixoes would struggle vs the physical style and nature of the mls and it will effect them alot while after a while mls teams could adapt a bit.

look at beckham, hes going ********ing mental, and hes british!!!!

    You've seen machado play?

Not apt to compare to players in leagues of differing federations as there is little basis for comparison.

Note to self: Don't post in or read Adu threads as long as he's playing in Portugal.

I look for updates on his situation but have no interest in the discussions.

It's been that way for a couple weeks now.
