I mixed up my word from before. I know I am not going to plug my monitor into my TV.

Bottom line is that my Internet DSL connection is NOT that fast and I sure that buffering will be a major issue for me in trying to watch games. I am NOT at all crazy about watching anything via the Internet. I much prefer TV.

Regardless, as I said, I will give it a try.

Now, has FoxSoccer.com mentioned anything about prices or any other details related to this? I know they mentioned it would be an 11th hour thing, but it would be nice if they gave us some info on things so we are not blindsided by things this weekend.

Perhaps they want customers to purchase the game on impulse, before they realize what they are doing.

Actually, with all the last minute stuff, they would do wise to initially waive the charge so that:

    1) Soccer fans teed off by this development will cool off

    2) Prospective customers will try the technology, many for the first time when it comes to watching sports, and possibly be more willing to purchase future matches, or even subscriptions

Setanta is introducing their channel to DishNetwork customers by having a five-week 'free preview', Every year, MLB made itself aware to customers by showing a week of free games. Since it is three days away, and there is still no visibility of fox broadband (outside of these threads) among the sports watching public, I think it will be a good way of showing that this service exists.

    BREAKING NEWS

I guess they didn't get their broadband service going yet...(though I wish it were because they were getting such negative reactions to it)

I've already got Setanta Broadband so I'd much prefer the games be on regular FSC. Short lived I'm sure.

I guess I will have to wait and see how it all pans out.

If FSC is going to use Fox Broadband to show the 4th choice game or the ones that are not normally on, I can go along with it. With FSC picking up Serie A they won't have all of the afternoon to show the delayed matches and I can see the logic in putting some up on broadband.

If FSC starts to put "bigger" teams on the broadband service more often then it is essentially the new PPV which is pretty much crap for the customers. If I understand everything correctly this won't be the case.

Already having the Setanta channel on Direct, I doubt if I will buy the Fox Broadband.

this is a legitimate reason for some people, isn't it? i mean, my computer is on the other side of my place from my TV, i doubt I can get a cable to plug my graphics card to the back of the TV.

if I wanted to watch FSC Broadband on TV I would have to un-hook my tower and move it to the TV room and connect it straight to my TV. possible, put kind of a pain in the ass.

anyways, i won't be watching matches on FSC broadband. sounds stupid.

Sorry to interrupt the latest rangers00 v your name here handbags, but all this is a moot point really because as far as I can see, there is still no mention of this broadband thing on FOX Soccer.

So I wouldn't expect it this weekend.

So any clue as to what happens to Arse/Blackburn?

FSC has got this all wrong, if I watch a match on my computer, im using sopcast and im sure as hell not paying anyone. If they want to give us another match, then start up FSC alternate the way setanta does on directv. Hopefully this half baked broadband idea doesnt even get off the ground.

So it's half-baked because you would prefer to watch a pirated (I presume) feed? And that's better than not giving you the chance to watch any extra matches at all (because adding an "extra" channel for cable subscribers isn't that easy).

Its a half baked idea because they have already screwed it up and put the Arsenal/Fulham match on live on actual television, and who knows what they will do this week. This Fox Broadband is essentially pay per view (Arsenal 2 weeks in a row? Part of the big 4, one of the most supported clubs in the world, and conviently they are on a 'must pay extra to watch over your computer' basis) , I pay enough to watch the premiership that I dont need some lame broadband service to cost me even more to watch games I watched last year. What desire should I have to hunker down in my tiny ass computer chair in front of my stock monitor and weak speakers and actually have to pay to watch something?

I dont really care about cable subscribers, I was merely making the point that Setanta puts extra live matches on directv channel 670, there are enough unused channels that it could work.

Didn't see this discussed and I just saw this on the Fox site.

    Link is here: http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/7107088

    PAY-PER-VIEW MATCHES

For the first time on broadband, Fox Soccer Channel brings you the best of the Barclays Premier League. If you miss the game live or don't get Fox Soccer Channel, catch the action here on Fox Soccer Broadband. We'll bring you full matches on 12-hour delay, and let you view them until the new fixture round. For the low price of $4.99 per game, you can't afford not to watch! The first round fixtures are FREE to watch and will be available soon.

So it appears from this that broadband service they have now will not be live, but on a 12 hr. delay and $4.99/match. Unless they are going to offer another type of service for live matches as well, but this all that is up there now.

that is terrible in comparison to Setanta Broadband which is a monthly fee.

This match is to henceforth be known as ArseBurn...

The only place I've seen it listed is in Setanta's schedule, which is unfortunately currently screwed up, uh, I mean being "revamped"...but you can still get there at the following link:

    http://na.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/tvschedule?open&channel=setantasportsna&dateadjust=7&

The game is listed to be on a delayed showing Monday morning at 8:15 am.

There seems to be a disease on the Internet, which is a strange compulsion to "leave out the last part which contains the actual relevant information".

The part you left out is the list of matches !

This shows that the 12-hour delayed service is for the same matches shown on Fox Soccer Channel. That is not the Broadband Service, which is for matches not shown on Fox Soccer Channel.

I actually wrote to them stating that fact and also inquiring if they plan on expanding their broadband service. I anxiously await their response. ;)

I didn't state it was. I had said this was all they put up on the site. I also said "Unless they are going to offer another type of service for live matches as well, but this all that is up there now."

I think that they can't offer a live service for the matches shown on Fox Soccer Channel - because then they would be competing with the same matches that are on the cable systems, and it is likely that their deal with cable systems specifies that they can't offer the same material in a competing format. Or else they simply don't want to give that perception, hence the 12-hour delay.

The Fox Broadband service was going to provide the matches not shown on FSC or Setanta, live on the Internet.

Arsenal v Fulham started at 7 AM ET, so there was no conflict with the regular 11 AM ET match. That won't be the case this weekend, so it won't be live on TV no matter what. The question I would have is why are Arsenal playing all these extra Sunday matches. That's not FOX's fault.

Oh thanks, that's so nice of you.

If they're showing the matches on 12 hour delay, who's going to bother?

Last weekend's game was moved to Sunday due to something having to do with the railway to the Emirates not running on Saturday, but the game was scheduled early because Arsenal is playing midweek in the Czech Republic..

The reason next weeks game was moved to Sunday is due to host Blackburn playing a Thursday night UEFA Cup Qualifier this week in Finland.

I don't see them as giving any extra matches. It seems to me that they are taking away games that they could show on FSC and making us pay per game. Greedy sob's.
What happens when Serie A starts in a couple weeks? Will there be even fewer premiership games live on FSC? More games on broadband?

In the past, the Arsenal game (KO Sunday 11 AM ET) might have aired at 1 PM ET, after the live game ended. Or, it would be delayed by a day or not air at all. So a live broadband showing would be a benefit.

Serie A shouldn't interfere with any live Premier League games. It will mean that the 4th choice 10 AM ET game on Saturday would be delayed an extra 2-2.5 hours.

I'd rather have a 2 hour delayed Arsenal game for free than have to pay $5 and watch it on my computer live.

They are taking away games that we were able to see last season, and acting like they are doing us a favor by making us pay to see them.

Originally I read that the Fulham v Middlesbrough match was to be shown on FoxSoccer.com. However, I have not seen anything on Fox's site to verify this. Will FoxSoccer.com's Broadband coverage be starting this weekend? Has Fox released any more info on this?

    Thanks!
