    Never said "it doesn't happen."
But then, you know, Spurs supporters are used to watching crappy football.

    What follows is pure rant.

After reading a Yahoo! Sports article about the number of angry Dallas 'fans' who were disappointed at not seeing David Beckham play and after having seen the accompanying photo of some dude with a sign reading 'Welcome to America, David, where people like you get paid to do nothing', I have something to say to those poor unfortunate souls who bought their (probably first ever) MLS match tickets.

My heart goes out to you and f*** you.

If I read another story about 'fans' (and I mean big quotes here) who are disappointed about not seeing David Beckham play, I might lose it.

How many of us have been fans of MLS? And for how long?

I remember reading a similar article from Yahoo! Sports (where they actually spelled players' names correctly for once) on the impact of Beckham (probably the reason for the correct spelling) on the sport in America. In it, the journalist had noted that an LA fan had yelled out during a Galaxy training session that Donovan was still the star of the team. The journalist had felt obliged to ridicule the fan for not knowing (based purely on name recognition) the 'true' star of the Galaxy. But now I'm starting to understand what the fan meant. He/she was a true fan of MLS, who could remember the many matches Donovan has played in this league (that all the regulars like DeRosario, Onstad, Moreno, Rhine, Marsch, etc. have played).

Last night's match was amazing. Don't get me wrong. I think Beckham will make an impact once he starts playing. But for a bunch of people to come out just to see Beckham play (and I'm assuming a good portion of which that had been sticking to the age-old 'Soccer is boring. It's too low-scoring.') and not appreciate the 6-5 shootout they witnessed without him, just makes no sense.

One night he was warming up right in front of me. The first ten times he ran by, I just kept saying "are you going to play soccer or dive all night?" At one point he finally had enough. He told me to jump the rail and fight him. He is a selfish have no class punk. I would have bought your daughter cotton candy had I been there to hear her harass ruiz. Tell your daughter to keep up the good work!!!!!

What a crazy game. I think our defense broke down under a mix of pressure and tiredness. This has me a little concerned because everyone is going to be tired for the next two months.

MOTM for me was Gordon. Not just two goals, but two quality goals, and not just quality goals, but the kind of goals we want our target forward to score.

Cannon is finally looking like the kind of keeper you make a blockbuster trade for.

Donovan: Everytime he pisses off bigsoccer fans it just makes me like him more.

Otherwise, nobody stood out for me (in a good way). Nice goal by Harmse. Although he also had his usual out-of-control yellow. I kind of hoped for a better defense given the three D-mids, but it was what it was. In support of both defenses I would note that these were quality goals and not the usual garbage we've been giving up.

THAT'S AWESOME!!! I would love to be close enough to say that to him. Except I would say it in Spanish so he could hear it from a fellow Spanish speaker!

People should stop worrying about whether or not Beckham was going to play. The 21,000 plus fans at Pizza Hut Park were treated to an unbelievable match and I surely hope that none of them went home disappointed mainly because they bought tickets thinking Becks was going to suit up and play. 11 goal matches are rare especially in this league and hopefully this encourages more FC Dallas fans to fill that relatively brand new stadium (unlike my Bulls who play on a football field in front 8 grand a match). So Use it Dallas fans!

Who on planet earth doesn't know what that means in Spanish?
How he doesn't get carded for repeatedly screaming SONOFAWHORE at the top of his lungs to a lineseman is effing beyond me.

Finally Yallop is proving me and a lot of disgruntled Galaxy fans wrong, I mean the willingness to go forward yesterday is what I have been begging for all season, the team actually showed chemistry and some dynamic attacking. And also thanks Dallas for giving us one of the most epic matches in league history.

Rep buttons still exist if you use the "BigSoccer" skin.
If your using one of the MLS skins, they don't appear.

That said, I tried rep somebody today and it didn't work. There are quite a few small bugs they're still working out, obviously.

Proving again the age-old soccer addage:

A four goal lead is the most dangerous lead in soccer.

And here I was thinking all these years that a 2 goal lead was the most dangerous...

I'm watching the game now (DVR!) and I just finished the first half - and I see Arturo Alvarez throw the ball at the ref! And he got to play the second half?!! Are you kidding me?

yep, a typical 1-0 game. it was very boring.

  25. I'm usually out looking for diving, and Ruiz never disappoints, but I didn't see it in this case by Toja. I think we were very lucky not to get a PK called against us. I thought the defender did get his feet or his legs.
