Yes, a major stadium announcement will be aired this Friday via a tele-conference from New York.

According to "Solo Futbol", a big and important major stadium announment will be the "talk of the town". They did not want to say much, but Ernesto Motta claims that it will be a great news for all redbulls fan. If my mind is serving me right, what I'm suspecting is that we are not playing at Giant Stadium next year. I think they've found a better and cheaper facility where we will be treated with more respect.

More likely, they've finally found Jimmy Hoffa's remains; not at the swamp but at the RB park site ;)

Why a Friday announcement, why not do it at the Thursday game? is that a modus operand of the front office or something

I think they have to finalized some legality issues before the big announment is made.

According to an inside source, the announcement is that Redbull will buy out AEG, pump additional dosh into the project and the result will be a virtual replica of the Relbull Salzberg stadium.

To be blunt, it means we're skeptical.

    Give us a source.

My source is from the media who probably wouldn't appreciate if I gave his name. I'm an 11 year season ticket holder who's been a member of these boards since they were a Metros-only Soccerboards.com but got tired of my old screen name and chose a new one today. But you'll only be able to tell if my source is any good on Friday. Beware of judging books by covers.

That is very interesting. But I don't see why AEG would do that.

Don't know why that would be considered a 'major' announcement and/or necessarily good news? Doesn't the Salzburg stadium only seat between 18-23k fans? It doesn't look any more impressive to me than the existing renderings of Red Bull Park.

I'd hope that the announcement is that the stadium will NOT be part of the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority.

Stop that shiiiiiittttt and shut the hell up, the "60-90 days announcement" theory belongs to the past in the time that we were a poor devil team with not money. The whole thing changed after we were bought by the Red Bull drink. When Red bulls say something, dont even doubt it anymore. So stop for the lord sake.

It is expanded for the Euro2008.

This is what it looked like before exansion. The raised the roof and added a second level.

Basic rendering of what it will sort of look like:

This is confusion, first i cant get the second picture. The link isnt working in my computer. Second, are you talking about expanding the new redbull park or the one in Europe?.

Third but not least, the major announment is about the New York Redbull Stadium situation, not about the other team or other park. So, let's keep things under prospective here. The source from "solo futbol", which is the official Redbull Spanish radio talk show", said it clearly. It's about our team in particular.

I don't know what the announcement will be, but I can't see it being that the new stadium will be exactly like Salzburg stadium, because ours looks better as it is.

Just point out what RB is doing stadium design wise in Salzburg as a model for what they are think about here.

if you search on the web for the latest renderings of both, they are very very similar. I think AEG's plan calls for a removable stage, Salzburg's does not.

So if it is true RB is buying out AEG's share, then they will likely be adjusting the design to be more like Salzburg's/

So i beg to differ, they are quite correlated.

I don't care if it's a replica of someone elses, we just need to get out of GS.

The Red Bulls announce that the stadium site is "more difficult than they had previously imagined", and have discovered "places that had up to 17 foundations, catching us, again, completely by surprise", and therefore the timetable for a completed stadium "may be pushed back, unless we have a warm winter."

Hey, you're right. This thread really IS begging for jokes...

Once again the real joke is the State of NJ. How in the hell do you have a building that has 17 foundations under it? It's not toxic waste, it's the mob burrying their whacked targets or people who betrayed them.

Great location, but sadly too many un-forseen concrete foundations that we are hearing that have been found and ripped out. This toxic waste crap is really these foundations that are either 3 or 17 slabs long into the ground.

You can try and bring back the 60-90 days jokes all you want & to be honest, they are also annoying and full of crap as well. This is something that is basically out of RBNY's hands. Nothing they can do about it when they have these un-seen obstructions blocking the construction of the stadium.

You can act all miserable all you want & make these crap posts just to make yourself feel better or continue on to say same old Metro different name & such. But if you really want to stay behind this project and hope for the best then shut up, keep your chin held up high & be positive once the construction starts. Just stay positive and feel good when the stadium is built. I know it's hard for the majority to do this. I'm just as frustrated as you guys are, but I'm not going to sulk and act like I'm down in the dumps. The good will turn in our favor.
