Was just told Sims wouldn't be available this weekend because he is on loan to the Puerto Rico Islanders. Anyone heard anything about this?

It's not on USL or Puerto Rico's site yet, so for now I'd say it's got no substance, but then again I haven't heard much from Sims in the reserve division the past few weeks so perhaps it does have some truth in it.

Willie was on the injury report for the Mutts game last Saturday, so it must be a recent move.

It's times like this that I wish we had something like Goff's blog for the Revs. FDA does an OK job of reporting, but we don't have anyone that reports roster moves/rumors or the any of the team-insider stuff on a regular basis.

This would be former DC United draft pick Jay Needham's club, yes?

That explains why the reserve team goal was scored by a guest player last night.

Kelto is as regular a guest player as they come, having played for the Reserves for about 3 years now.

OK, but he is still a non-roster player, playing forward in a reserve game where Willie Sims should be playing if he were here.

Is that why they don't fill the 3 open roster spots, because Kelto and Walker are available whenever needed?

I guess I can't complain, the reserves are in first place. ;)

As someone who tries weekly to get more than stock, press-release answers from the Revs organization, this is a tall order. They're a tight-lipped crew down there, as far as I can tell.

It has to be up to the Herald, Globe, or similar "big press" cats to handle this, and I'm not sure it's on their agenda.

Simms playing competitive football in USL-1 is much better than playing every few weeks for the reserves. Not to mention he'll get used to jet lag real quick:p

Can't they at least get his name on a jersey, then?

I just checked the schedule. Islanders have one game left in their season (this Saturday in California). Not much chance for Sims to "gel" with the team.

Sims started and went 69 minutes on Thursday partnered up top with Fabrice Noel in their 1-1 draw with Vancouver.

On Saturday he started and went 15 minutes, possibly in midfield?, in a 1-0 loss to Seatle.
