I posted something in the CONMEBOL section askin for some help with all of the CONMEBOL nat team rosters. I thought it might be a bit better to get a response directly from the Brazilian Fans.

I've already revamped the lineup once. Just trying to decide if this one is pretty good or not.

To give you some background info. I edit and create national teams at soccergaming.tv for the PC version of FIFA '07. I have finally created all 208 national teams, now the job is to get very believable rosters that will last for a while.

National team rosters are tough just because teams use a pool of players and club responsibilities keep you from calling in your entire First Team 100% of the time. The idea here is to identify who your first team would in theory be if you had to pick 23 players to play every game with those 23.

Thanks for any responses, I assure you every response will be taken into account when updates are done mainly because the best way to learn about a national team is to ask it's fans.

    # 1 - Ronaldo is history, don't even bother putting that guy in any Brasil's NT.

Go ahead and put Alexandre Pato next to Robinho, that's what's going to be from now on. Also Elano will be bench, you can put Julio Batista on his place. Daniel Alves is bench, can you put Cicinho on his place pls?!

    That's it.

I agree- we need Cicinho, despite recent injuries.

We also need new coaching, Dunga had all the time to prepare a team that has produced nothing...

Cicinho is better than Alves, he has alot of speed and fits in with the team and has more experience, Cicinho is what Brazil wants
Gilberto, I would replace him with Marcelo or Maxwell, either one is fine
G.Silva is not the team captain, its Lucio
Ronaldo aint history, he will still play for Brazil, just cause hes 30 doesnt mean he wont play anymore, age doesnt matter as long as you still have it in you, once the Serie A season starts, Ronaldo will score goals and will catch Dungas eyes.
Pato is too young to be playing for the senior team

The best soccer gaming forum is soccergaming.tv which, if you have the PC version of FIFA '07 it has a ton of leagues, teams, editors, kits, minikits, flags, banners, balls, faces, players, stadiums. It's always getting better as well. This is the first year we've had all 208 national teams released.

If you'de like a list of all of the leagues you can add in relateively quickly(each patch takes about an hour to load in using the CM07 utility)... Take a look at THIS thread

Cyprus, Malta, Bulgaria, Serbia first divisions are among the many leagues you can find there.

As for the roster, it looks like I'm pretty close and there is always going to be some debate one way or another based on each persons opinion. I added Elano to the starting 11 mainly based on some quotes I read from Dunga talking him up. Whether Dunga is the right coach or not he is the guy in place now so I felt it was worth it to put in place one of the guys he seems to be rather fond of.

As for Ronaldo/Pato ... Pato looked good against the U.S. (which I was only able to catch part of). And I thought that Ronaldo had previously stated he would never again participate in a world cup. I had the notion that whether he wanted to or not his days were done and Adriano would step in, but I've only recently heard of Adriano's lack of form. To be honest based on everything I know of Ronaldo, I'm looking for a good reason to drop him from the starting lineup, and maybe from the team. But I'm told he'll be back.

Also I'm told Daniel Alves and Cicinho may be battling that spot out for a while. It's good to have two strong young options at that position and hopefully either will step up and perform.

Someone else had suggested Lucio may be the choice as Captain. I think that is a change I will make.

Ronaldo is an old fat body that is injured prone this late on his carrer and we can all stick a fork on it, he's totally done. Romario didn't played on the NT till he dropped dead, neither did Pele nor Zico or anybody else. Ronaldo's days are in the past, he have new blood and we need to renew to keep on top. Pato is the future, plain simple. Cicinho is the man, d.alves is bench.

Yes i agree Ronaldo is a fat fool who always manages 2 score, and vanger love is not fat and always manges 2 not score. So Vanger Love all the way cuz he doesn't have an old fat body, who cares if he never scores.

Who cares if he doesnt score? thats the main thing in soccer, scoring, if you dont score then you loose, simple, and if you were up to date with Ronaldo news you would know he isnt fat anymore.

Pato is great, but he is too inconsistent.

let him get a little more experience, and a little more consistency, and ill be all for him on the NT.

a year should be good. He will be 18 3/4 by this time next year. still really young, but he is such a talent we need him.

    just my opinion obviously

That's really helpful to me. If you think he's gonna be ready in a year I can probably go ahead and add him since most of these users will be playing tournaments through the 2010 World Cup.

For the Ronaldo supporters... How many of you believe he will still be around when it comes time to catch the plane to South Africa?

If we were to play some old guy in there I prefer Romario over Ronaldo. Forget that, since we are such lame bunch that have to depend in the old fellas right? Why don't we bring Rei Dada' back?!

Ronaldo will be in plenty conditions to play as long as keeps up the work ethic that he has regained with AC Milan. Ronaldo will only be 33 yrs old in the next world cup. If you look at someone like Cafú in the 06 WC now that was too old. Cicinho played so much better than he did in the game against Japan.

It's nonsense to compare the age of a centroavante with the one of an lateral direito. The explosion, the run to bypass goalies and many other aspects that made Ronaldo one of the greatest are all in the past. He can' barely scored a goal with his head (I think he has only two on his carrer) and unless the entire team works for him, he can't get things done. I hope Ronaldo get a grip and get the hell out, even before they tell him to get lost.
