Este equipo fue el peor desde hace muchos anos ke veniamos a la Copa America... De aca tienen que salir muchos... Cn mucha humildad y responsabilidad Calero, IRC, Yepes tienen ke hacerse a un lado pq demostraron ke ya se acabò su tiempo en el equipo... Duele decirlo pero es asi estos jugadores dieron la talla en el exterior pero cn la selecciòn siempre les faltò algo para mostrar todo su potencial y por eso quedamos afuera de 2 mundiales seguidos. Hay ke renovar el equipo cn ellos no se puede, etan quitando espacio y oportunidad a otros ke podrian realmente traer triunfos a la selecciòn. I said it b4 the tournie started that Calero didnt deserve to be the goalie after the Uruguay game. I said the players were just on the team to be sold and they are but sadly after 9 goals in 2 games dont think any one of these players will even get a job in the honduarian league. I think we need to restore order here, theres some really frustrated folks saying folks they likely don't mean. Let's play nice and discuss thoughtfully. Personally, I am amazed by how poorly this side responds to adversity. After the missed pen against Paraguay and again tonight after the Argies scored an (undeserved) pen our side simply fell apart and lost its inertia. I had been very encouraged by our start tonight, we pushed forward and simply wouldn't let the Argies get comfortable. Our goal was well deserved and the third backheel goal I've seen us score against the Celeste y Blanco (See: Congo and Angel for other examples) - why we seem to only be able to score backheels against them and nothing else works is a whole other question! My player ratings: Calero - 4 - Awful on the first three goals yet again. His lack of confidence is evident and he simply isn't reacting to the ball. Hurts to see a great keeper play this poorly. Arizala - 4 - Tackled hard and worked harder. His athleticism is tantalizing because you just keep thinking he's going to do something good...but it never materializes. Simply didn't show the class to play on the national side. Cordoba - 4.5 - Attackers continue to waltz around him at will. As with Calero, its just hard to watch knowing what he was. Amaranto - 5 - His speed was badly needed on the side and he was fundamental cutting off Messi's runs. Not enough in the air though.... Vallejo - 4.5 - Just didn't provide the width we needed, and slowed down the game when we should have pushed. Not a single overlap going forward and he always needed a double team to help him out. Vargas - 3 - Playing hard does you no good when you play dumb. Gave the ball straight back to the Argentines countless times, simply couldn't contain Messi and played far too dirty. Some embarrassing tackles, and his red card was well deserved - what was he thinking leaving us with 10 men just when we were trying to mount a comeback. And then why did it take him 3 minutes to get off the pitch! Viafara - 3 - How can you play abroad and have so little control of the ball. His inability to cross the ball or complete a pass made him an asset to the Argentines. Works so hard, but simply losses the ball with too high a frequency for a centre mid player. Banguero - 3 - Poor guy.What was he doing on the pitch? Unable to mark any of the Argentines on skill or pace, he simply fouled the entire match and was unable to provide any outlet. Ferreira - 6 - Ran like hell the whole game, and played with great heart. For all those that said he wasn't an NT player - he's been our only player with any courage in the past two games. Great corner for the second goal, and he set up (albeit it unknowningly) Perea's goal. Rodallega - 4 - Non-existant. Didn't win anything in the air, and everything to his feet just bounced to the opposition. Played with his back to the goal more than he is comfortable doing (though he'll have to learn if he wants to get anywhere). Not a single shot on goal. Edixon - 6 - Gets an extra point for the cheek demonstrated on that backheel. Edixon should watch tapes of how he played three years ago. Simply to hesitant and unwilling to use his pace to his own advantage. Almost never takes on his defender when his hips and pace should make him a constant threat. Chitiva - 5 - Should have started, eventually got some minutes playing out of position. Was neat on the ball and kept possession except in the play that resulted in the 4th goal (though if we'd had any midfield that ball gets easily cleared). Castrillon - 6 - Scored a great header and then nearly another. Great presence and actually completed passes. Why hasn't he been playing? Torres - 6 - What a difference a bit of attitude makes. Macnelly's positive play set the stage for the late charge. His through ball to Castrillon was terrific, and he nearly scored a wondergoal that got picked off on the ground after a meandering run in the box. Against the US, I really hope we give the kids a chance and play, we may as well see what they can do.

Vallejo - 3 - did well defending at 1st then left the gap again dont understand how he starts over zuniga Vargas - 1 -dont understand how anyone gives him anything higher than a 1. has no 1st touch, only passed the ball to Messi, got red carded a 2nd time and cost us the game a 2nd time agaisnt argentina in 2 games thanks alot and hope ur never on the team again Viafara - 3 - doesnt deserve to be on the Nt, didnt do anything but hit and asked for a change 1st half wasnt taken out till the 2nd Banguero - 4 - Did what he is known to do which is scare and hit, lucky he wasnt red carded. How he is on the NT or a starter is beyond me. he is too old to be exported any were but Venezulea or Centeral America Ferreira - 10 - Gives 500% , 1st goal was his play, and does everything too bad the rest of the team doesnt show a 20th of what he does Rodallega - 6 - doesnt deserve to be a starter but does give his all, and ran all game and helped offensively and defensively Edixon - 9 - Slowly getting his form back and getting match fit. Exciting prospect up front with Falcao. Chitiva - 4 - Guy isnt a striker stop putting him there he just doesnt work. He came on and it was a diff colombia Torres - 7 - Didnt have alot of time to play but with his enterance and Castrillon Colombia def show'd positive. Almost got 2 goals at the end. Colombia -7- Look we didnt do as bad as the score says we were a better team just the ref gave Argies a free pk and Calero cant catch a cold. Look at it this way only like 5 of these playres have any shot of being on the team and Argies took a WC ready squad. This team would have at least tied if we had used Zapata
Colombia's goals were very nice. But Argentina was without a doubt the better team, and that's even after a relatively mediocre performance. Also colombia was very violent, so the blaming this on the ref is really not accurate. When you foul so much you just increase the risk of getting penalty or a red.
Argentina was the better team after the ref changed the momentum. after 20 minutes, Argentina was down 1-0 and didnt have much chances beside Crespo's header to the crossbar. so we can't say "if" in every game, but agree with me that if the ref doesn't point to the spot, Colombia could also lead at half time when the morale is high and the Argies have their pressure on them. instead, great dive by messi who can for sure be a professional actor, unfair 1-1 draw and naturally the morale is down cuz it's not an easy game without the ref help. we still have 1% to qualify. we need Venezuela beat Uruguay by 3 goals or more (which could defenitly can happen), and Peru get at least a draw from Bolivia. Colombia will have to beat USA by 3 goals (again, not impossible mission) and then Uruguay and Colombia will have 3 PTS. Colombia -4 GD and Uruguay -5. the same thing will happen if Chile will lose by 3 goals to Mexico (again, not something impossible)....I'm holding my fingers crossed, but let's face it, we don't deserve to qualify.
I said it before the tournament, we need strikers/goal scorers, we have the chances but we don't put them away. Against Paraguay, had a PK, caracho threw it away, at the end of the game, Paraguay had like 10 chances at goal, 5 goals scored, Colombia had 13 chances at goal, 0 scored. Last night the same thing, we played Argentina much better in the second half, but the fouls closed to the goal keep hurting us, I don't know why the players keep making those fouls. Watching this team is like watching the last u-20 team, only Pino was running around doing something, everyone else was just standing around, this time is Ferreira, I don't know what's wrong, like the guys from RCN were saying last night, Why are we playing al pelotazo? our style is el toque-toque, but we can't even do that anymore, we couldn't string two passes together, till the end when it was 3 - 2, Ferreira and Torres had some nice touches and McNelly had his shot blocked. So frustrairing and sad to watch this team.

Aunque exageró en algunas entradas, se mostró seguro y en varias ocasiones corrigió errores de sus compañeros. Javier Arizála: Sigue demostrando que no está para selección; sin embargo, tuvo la personalidad de probar desde afuera, pero no es un jugador de primer nivel. Gerardo Vallejo: No se proyectó por su costado. El lateral no fue trascendente en el encuentro y la marca otra vez fue floja. Volantes Fabián Várgas: Exageró el transporte de la pelota. El Colombiano Miguel Calero: mejoró con relación al partido ante Paraguay, pero otra vez se quedó en el cabezazo de Riquelme y desentonó cuando el equipo estaba para el empate. Gerardo Vallejo: lo intenta, pero sigue sin convencer porque tiene poca salida y juega muy atropellado. Amaranto Perea: sin ser el Amaranto que se conoce, le dio algo de seguridad a la zaga. Iván Córdoba: no estuvo tan lento como el jueves, pero se desconcentró en los momentos claves. Javier Arizala: casi empata el juego con un remate de media distancia. Carece de salida y acudió mucho al juego fuerte para detener a Messi y compañía. John Viáfara: ayer no fue capaz ni de sacar ventaja de su físico; es un jugador atropellado, sin distancia ni claridad. Jorge Banguero: el mejor del medio campo, aunque también pegó que dio miedo. Fabián Vargas: no se entiende cómo es titular si todos los balones los entrega mal y tampoco funciona en la recuperación. David Ferreira: generó el primer gol y otra vez apareció muy solo en el medio. Es el único que se salva de este desastre deportivo. Edixon Perea: pese al gol, se ve muy atropellado y da muchas vueltas para rematar al arco contrario. Hugo Rodallega: lo único que pone es desgaste físico, pero se enreda con el balón y no tuvo ni una opción clara. Jaime Castrillón: el mejor de Colombia en el complemento, anotó un gol y tuvo la posibilidad de empatar con un cabezazo. Macnelley Torres: tiene fútbol para jugar más tiempo, porque le puso ganas y se asoció bien arriba. Andrés Chitiva: es otro de los que debería jugar más porque con tan poco tiempo le cuesta.

Jorge Luis Pinto escogió una buena Selección. Los jugadores que conforman esta delegación, por lo menos en su mayoría, tienen el nivel y la experiencia para estar allí; sin embargo, los pocos que nunca han tenido el nivel y los que ya no lo tienen, como Iván Ramiro Córdoba, son los que vienen siendo titulares. Córdoba desde las pasadas eliminatorias demostró que la Selección le estaba empezando a pesar. Roque Santa Cruz no le hubiese ganado en carrera en el segundo gol hace cinco años. Además, el ambiente con el técnico se distorsionó con la polémica que se abrió antes de comenzar el torneo. Hugo Rodallega no es en este momento la solución de gol para Colombia. El delantero tuvo un solo encuentro con la red en el Torneo Clausura 2007 de México. La anotación la consiguió el 14 de marzo y desde ese día no celebra un tanto. Edixon Perea, aunque fue el mejor ante Paraguay, únicamente alcanzó dos goles en la liga de Francia. Si los comparamos con Salvador Cabañas (marcó dos goles ante Colombia), que hizo 19 tantos en esta temporada, incluyendo que fue el goleador de la Toyota Libertadores con diez, la pareja de atacantes de Colombia no alcanza la sexta parte de lo hecho por el paraguayo. Gerardo Vallejo aparece como lateral derecho, más por la necesidad de Pinto de ocupar esa posición debido a la negativa Córdoba para ocuparla, que por el nivel que mostró el jugador durante la temporada. Javier Arizala ni siquiera es titular en Tolima, Brahaman Sinisterra ocupó la posición y fue quien tuvo la experiencia en Libertadores. En el caso de John Viafára, aunque es titular en Southampton, no se puede dejar a un lado que es un equipo de segunda división, no importa que sea Inglaterra que tiene un fútbol competitivo, primera es primera y segunda... Cuando la señal de televisión se acerca al banco colombiano, muchos piensan que ahí está el equipo que debería estar en la cancha. Camilo Zúñiga Y Vladimir Marín, aunque defienden poco, demostraron mejor nivel durante la temporada y seguramente le darían más presencia ofensiva al equipo, sobre todo ahora que se necesitan los resultados para llegar a segunda ronda. Macnelly Torres se destacó en la Libertadores y aparece como el último 10 natural que tiene Colombia. Andrés Chitiva tuvo la oportunidad en los partidos amistosos y no disgustó. En realidad, y aunque Pinto dejó por fuera a jugadores como Sergio Herrera, Háyder Palacios, Rubén Bustos y José Amaya entre otros, el gran problema que ha tenido el técnico colombiano es la confección de una nómina que en verdad sea competitiva. En este momento las respuestas las tiene en el banco, simplemente debe voltear a mirar. Así como fue “engañoso” el resultado ante Paraguay, con Argentina pasó lo mismo. El marcador 4-2 no es reflejo del partido. Los Gauchos ganaron cómodamente y simplemente tuvierion paciencia para convertir cuatro anotaciones. Colombia demostró no tener espíritu y la selección que ilusionó al país antes de viajar, se tendrá que devolver sin hacer ruido.
