28 is washed up? That's the usual career prime for field players.

green rat: Mexican National team player, I assume
beaker: Jayhawk fan/player/whatever associated with University of Kansas, it's an MU-KU thing please don't get this started again.
a member of the black and white: DC United player.

Hey, I was watching the US-Mexico game today with a Mexican friend of mine and we started talking about this guy. He told me the guy had some FIFA issues with some doping. The player says it was normal dr/prescription stuff, but who knows. Anyone know anything about this?

hell, I always called them the green weenies :)

And I married one (she doesn't have one, thank God...)

Regardless-it was a great day in 1/2 of my household yesterday!

No, you didn't marry one...I hope, anyway.

The "Green Rats" name isn't mine. The lable came from a Mexican Media outlet in reference to the Mexican Men during an extended period of poor play several coaches and a few years back. I think Osorno was a part of the pool if not a starter at that time. The spanish words "Green Rats" was in 2 inch or bigger type headlined on the front page of some Mexican daily after yet another loss.

No, but from everything I've read and heard this isn't a player we want on our team.

You have a point-how can she be a "green weenie" when she doesn't have one inthe first place!

No, he isn't. I was stunned when I saw he was only 28. He's put a lot of mileage on. He was once something very special. But stay away now!

I would take the 36-year-old Argentine forward Calderon that Colorado is rumored to be signing over Danny Boy any day.

There are other guys out there who wouldn't be a risk with team chemistry, either.

So this is how Atlas treats its "partners", by dumping has-beens on them? :D

PS--That's Carmona and Aaron Galindo that got nailed for doping.

COL is winless in 7. I'm sure Osorno is the answer.

Glad we passed (from Sideline views):

I ran across this story on mediotiempo.com about Osorno and how he longs to return to Atlas. Here's part of what he had to say:

"There have been some conversations but we'll see if it happens. Hopefully in December we can talk to see if I can return. There was some talk about a possible return in InterLiga but it all depends on what happens when I go to Guadalajara to visit the club."

No offense but IIRC mediatiempo reported Osorno had signed with team(s) before the Rapids (i.e. that he had signed with KC or FCD back in early / mid July). The more I see from them the more they remind me of Tribal Football. That is, don't let facts get in the way of a sexy story.

That's not to say Osorno has done much of anything that makes him a player worth defending.
