I've been a Fire Fan for a long time now, and was wondering if anyone else out there misses hearing Ring of Fire play before the start of each game, or maybe knows why we don't hear it play anymore, except one a year at the induction ceremony.

Also, while I enjoy watching the video compliation at the start of each game, I miss the coundown that they did last year, with the burning wick going down.

The only Fire there song I miss is the Jimmy Hendrix commercial and fireworks shows of Peters era.

They want to take that Johnny Cash stuff and discard it with Dave S thats fine with me

The fuse thing last year was cool....

however, whoever is doing those pre-game compilations should be given a medal.

THOSE things should be commercials on TV.

  4. I think the Fire and MLS really do a lousy job on pre-game and introductions. I bring a lot of new fans to games who either don't know soccer or don't know MLS. They are always asking me who to watch, and then the players are introduced and they still can't tell who is who. Why not mandate that the line of players be in some order? Why not require each player to take three steps forward and raise his hand high so that people can see who is who? Frankly, I'd go to more an introduction like the NBA or other pro teams who have the players run out as they are announced. Also, what happened to the new MLS theme song they touted so much in the league opener? I'd be all for the video lead-in, wick burning ,etc.. Finally, half time seems a jumble. You've got one or more youth teams out there with little or no introduction. You've got somebody being honored for something, but it's not orchestrated very well. Fremd's state runners up girls team was announced, but they just seemed to march around the field. They definitely could do a better job of packaging this whole thing to attract the general fan.
