Heck, best MLS free kick ever. You know which one I am talking about. Un-effen-believable. The sarcasm should be obvious.
oops, sorry folks... I think I'm to blame for that one. I bought a book on telekinesis a few weeks ago and have been training daily ever since. While at the Fort today, I decided to test my progress on a moving ball... on that particular shot. Alas, I guess I need to continue my training.
FWIW, I will forever be disappointed in the internet in general if video of this doesn't eventually end up on YouTube.
I'm still wondering if it really happened.... I mean damn I could have hit the wall and saved face...
It was unbelievable. The crowd hardly re-acted for a few seconds because we didnt believe it was an actual free kick. I was thinking maybe there was an extra ball on the field and he was just getting rid of that one. Nope. He is just an awful player.
lol I'd love to see what you were saying about him when he scored that series winning goal against N.Y two years ago..
I sit behind Stevie. I thought he was going to break his hand on the sideboards. He immediately handed in the sub card to bring Thompson on. I was surprised it wasn't Khano he replaced. While that was a standout bad play (and not the only one), Khano had his usual couple of excellent crosses and made some decent recoveries on defense. IIRC he caught Eddie J in the box and neutralized him which, last I checked, wasn't something our usually stellar defenders managed to do.
After that horrendous kick, he and Ralston lined up for a free kick about the 18 yard line. No doubt Ralston was going to take it (eventually off the post) but I wanted some kind of warning if Smith was going to take it because I wanted time to move my car from the West lot in case it got hit by the ball.
How is a professional player not able to place a free kick anywhere near the box? It is truly mind boggling. This guy was phenomenal during the playoff run 2 yrs ago but this year has made some of the worst plays I've ever seen. How could SN not pull him off? This is one of the problems w/ MLS...you get away with stuff like this. Not enough depth on the roster to threaten losing your place on the field.
I loved it...I also love the severe inconsistant playing by him each and every time he touches the ball
Yeah the free kick was the best ever last night, I really loved the article on.... oh wait nevermind.
Well hey, I'm not gonna question Steve Nicol becuase he has done a damn fine job ever since he's taken over. He could easily modify the lineup and get Smith out of there, especially with Fanchino back. But he still chooses to start him.
maybe he know something about khano that we don't...like inside he is a good player? lol there is only one Khano there is only one khano
I guess Stevie was thinking "DAMNIT Khano what was that!? Just for that I'm taking off Dorman." Andy Dorman, Khano Smith's whipping boy!
He occasionally makes a decent play, but his inconsistency is just unbelievable. He made a decent cross or two yesterday, but he also dribbled out of bounds with nobody within several yards of him, tripped over the ball 17-25 times, and had that excellent free kick. I so wanted to be a Khano Smith fan, and was thinking maybe after all this time Stevie has developed him into a decent player. That hasnt happened. He is just a incredible athlete who does not have anywhere near enough skill to be in MLS.
as khano's numbahhhhh 1 fan, even i felt embarrassed for him after that. The little boy in front of me took pity on me and said "its okay...at least he made contact..."
Shouldn't the fact that you have to go back two years to find the last really impressive thing he did, tell you something?
