Well, that was 100 times better than we looked against Dallas.

Few good chances right at the end... good runs down the right side & crosses into the box, but nobody there to finish.

Marinelli put in a decent shift... Great work on the ball, but I think maybe he holds on too long at times when he has people to pass to.

Hartman looked a little shaky, misplayed/misjudged a few balls into the box. In the end he only gave up a goal on the PK, so I suppose he stopped everything he should have.

As noted previously, the mini Cauldron looked/sounded good & the announcers made numerous comments about them being the only fans making any noise. Props to you guys.

The photo on the MLS website looked a little unusual. What's with the new logo across the front of the chest (LH, IIRC)?

    Go Colorado, another point.

Good game, you can tell the field is pretty big by how the game was played. Both teams were tired by the end (which is expected for KC but Col? Shouldn't be, but frustrating game for them).

PK wasn't the strongest case for one in the world, but I am not going to say it wasn't a PK either. Unlucky for Davy but sometimes that just happens.

Good goal by Davy (read EJ, Davy just redirected what EJ set up so beautifully. Not to take away from Davy's play at all, still a great run and what we need more often from our forwards and A-Mid.) So yea, goal by EJ with the finish by Davy. EJ looked dangerous again tonight and I think he'll be putting in a request to get the SSS built ASAP and to make it as big as realistically possible. Tomorrow wouldn't be too soon for him. Also, one more thing about EJ... he needs to learn to be a bit more selfish at times. The ball to Harrington (offsides) was an example where he needs to make his space and take the shot. Of course, maybe hd didn't think he could get the space for the shot.. but I would've liked to see him take a shot in that situation regardless.

I didn't think that Col was fouling excessively. Some of those fouls were pretty weak or even playing for the foul a few times. I do think the ref missed one or two as well but on both sides and, more importantly, I prefer a ref that let's 'em play versus control the game. Very happy with the ref for this game. (Was going to say I thought the yellow was harsh for Jack but Match Tracker says it was for delaying a restatrt so as long as it wasn't for his handball I'm happy).

Oh, Marinelli is... outrageous. I would pay to just watch him on the ball. No game, no score... just him running around defenders as if they weren't there. There was a move he almost pulled off when he first got on that would have been crazy freaking cool. (Yes... crazy freaking cool. not just crazy cool or freaking cool.... crazy freaking cool). So Marinelli, if you are reading this, please, please, please don't get injured anymore.

Personally I'm waiting for someone to call for Harrington's resignation from the first team like they did Yura's last week. That shot he missed was missed just as badly and he had even less to do than Yura. That being said, I don't think he played a bad game.

I don't think Yura had a bad game either... still a few hiccups, but I think playing in matches is a good thing for him and he _did_ have a few good shots today as well... there was that one shot he had which took an amazing save by Col's keeper and would've been a fine goal in many other situations.

Burciaga had his hands full with Cooke (who I was surprised to see get taken off since he was one of the best players out there for Col). Conrad looked out of sorts, Hartman looked a bit flustered at times (I wonder how much the altitude does change the game though).

Oh, and Davy. More good work from him. Interesting that he was involved in both goals... but PK wasn't his fault by any means. I think Yura, Harrington, Sealy and even EJ could learn a lesson from that goal... which is to be smart and make good runs even if you don't have the ball. As I said, EJ does all the hard stuff but that is not a run that the guys listed above are making on a consistant basis

Traveling Cauldron was rocking. And many, many mentions on TV - lots of them to the effect of "what a subdued crowd... well, except for the fans from KC".

I think the result was fair. I think we got lucky they were missing the players they were missing. I also feel we got lucky that Brown had a piss-poor game and Gomez managed to hurt himself on a sitter. At the same time, if we have Marinelli in the game 90 minutes I think we win this game 2 or 3 to 1. Again, this will be a fun game to watch when/if both teams are at full strength.

Win at home and draw on the road right? Well, so we screwed up the winning at home last week bit, but taking a draw on the road at such a unique stadium... I'll take it.

Just got done watching. HDNet kept referring to the "subdued crowd...except for the 100 strong Wizards fans who made the trek to Colorado." I heard the chants, the drums, very clearly on the broadcast...also George's blue hair...

    WAY TO GO CAULDRON!!!

I'll take a point on the road any day, but if we could finish, we'd be unstoppable.

Good game from the Wiz even though we got stuck with a draw. Marinelli and Johnson played a good game. I can't wait to see Marinelli for a full 90 minutes against the Revs or RBNY.

My only quarrels were with Yura (please finish, or do anything. We might as well be playing with 10 men) and Mikey Harrington (That shot really could have been a goal.)

What killed me was Kansas City's general hesitation in the box. Eddie is still working around his fear of success and Yura's non-existent crossing. Look at the stats. KC's 10 shots on goal to COL's 15. We were in the box at least 20 times in the game. We need to put more shots toward the goal if we want to improve as a team. Here's hoping that Sealy and Marinelli's presence can bring back the glorious performance we had in our first 2 games this season.

    Enough negativity.

The Cauldron looked and sounded FANTASTIC on the 5.1 surround of HDNet. I could clearly hear the "Here we go", "Wizards", "Ole", "Ohhhh KC Wiz", and Remember the Titans chants. The greatest moment for the Cauldron came at the 15th minute when the cry of "who the hell are you?" came at a Colorado corner kick.

I think part of the problem Eddie is having right now is that Yura doesn't know how to work with him. I saw several times where Eddie practically stood still at the edge of the box waiting for help from ANYBODY. He can't take on the entire defense by himself. You can sense his frustration with Yura not moving into position in the box for at least a pass if not a shot on goal. I am going to keep ragging on Yura until he proves to me that he is worthy of being a starter. It is very, very obvious that until Scott is healthy, Davy should move up to forward, Sasha should move over to Davy's spot on the right, then put Carlos in the middle and let him work his magic. We were much more dangerous after Carlos came into the game. I thought Eddie's reaction after Davy's score was funny....like "Finally, somebody I can work with!".

We did exactly what you're talking about when Marinelli was healthy and Sealy wasn't. That's how we started in both the Toronto games then Marinelli got hurt and we had to change things up, it's not like Onalfo just decided to start Yura. I don't think Onalfo would tell you that Yura is ready to be starter but when both Marinelli and Sealy are unavailable what are you going to do?

last night at the hotel, he mentioned something about his hammie, that's probably why he was pulled.

The stadium and the complex are really nice, it's a lot like Dallas except with the roof and the one end is used better then the stage at PHP. Very nice complex.

As for the game, it was fantastic, great atmosphere from the Cauldron and a good time. Would have liked all 3 points, but I'll take the one, great time with the CO fans in the parking lot before the game as well. I know I had trouble seeing the far end of the field in the first half, those seats are a lot like our old seats in 114.

Agree and disagree. the complex was great the stadium had left alot to be desired. The overhangs meant to be roof do nothing for the atmosphere. So many flaws in the roof design imo, it is not even funny. Concourses are maybe a little tight but with a less than capacity crowd who knows what is like when the place is full.
Entrance to the stadium is great unless you have a flag, banner or drum. Then you have to walk into a certain gate and the only gate you can go through to get into the Dick.

I feel sorry for there fans. With the acoustic problem the Dick has they are set up to fail. I didn't here them once. The kids next to us in the metal bleachers made more noise than there SC. Whom imo the C-firm should be recruiting as newest members. Our section was like 114 as far as the view. Atmosphere wise... we just didn't shut up! :D

WE'RE DRUNK... AND WE KNOW WE ARE!

DSG 's o.k. cant hold acoustics(?) what so ever!, Shabby roof design, but all in all a nice stadium. Its ugly but it's "their" ugly, cant wait for our own. Half of the colo. fan base was asleep i think.

I'm thinking the acoustics are like Arrowhead. Every time I pointed my camera lens down at the Rapids supporters section, I could see the guy with the drum banging away, and could tell that some/all of the section were singing or chanting - but I never heard a thing.

Likewise, I'm pretty sure they never heard you, either. From my vantage point, you guys rocked a good rocking. Almost uninterrupted the entire game. And those little girls in the bleachers really did have great spirit. They should get recruited.

For you guys that were at the game, be sure to let Robb know about these problems so they can be fixed in our stadium design! Since he has shown he values our opinions as fans, we should give as much input as possible about what is good and bad about the other SSS's around the league so that we can be the envy of the league both on and off the field. :)

Great job guys! I've heard from many different people that the Cauldron was super loud and cheered over any other fan there. :D Wish I could'a been there, but thanks for being awesome for us!

Nice pictures of the Cauldron and nice blue hair, George. I like it more than the yellow. hee hee

Sounds like the Wizards played pretty well. Good to hear we looked and played better than we did against Dallas. Jimmy! Get better soon!
