... open it to pages 2 and 3 ... It's like almost 75% soccer! Mostly because the USWNT is in town, I'll admit, but compared to soccer coverage of, like, one paragraph in fine print in a little box at the bottom of p. 15? like is [was?] sometimes the case? I forgot to mention the photos, a nice one of Kristine Lilly, and one of a Keller-Fossil Ridge High School soccer player invited by the USWNT to the team bench for tonight's match. The young lady from Keller lost her mom to breast cancer just last month. so anyhow. In order to accentuate this positive development at the S-T of [hopefully as SOP] more soccer coverage ... I left words of praise on the message machine of Assistant Managing Editor, Celeste X. Williams (817) 390-7697. The third soccer story [no photo] there today is re: FCD: "Coach benches team captain" If you call (817) 390-7697 ... best not mention me. due to unpleasant e-mail excahges in years past. btw Celeste X. Good coverage in todays sports section of the DMN also....big front page story on the women and a very interesting piece on Sala on page 10.
Here's a link to the story: http://www.star-telegram.com/323/story/99733.html What a classy move by the US Women's soccer team "Lauren Perez, center, breaks the huddle during the U.S. national team's practice Wednesday. Perez, 16, will wear a U.S. jersey and watch tonight's game from the team's bench."
