I know that turkish football has been a very welcoming market for Brazilian players recently. Who are the Brazilian players currently in activity there? Which clubs are they in? Any Brazilian coach also?

    Fenerbahce:
Luciano- they say he played in the National team. A defender and scores many goals as a defender.
Marco Aurelio- midfielder. He was bought from Trabzonspor. Came to Turkey 4 years ago.
They also were interested in Alex, a defender.
    Galatasaray:
Cesar Prates- Right winger and defender. Has a very good free kick technique.
Joao Batista- IMO, one of the best players in Galatasaray but our coach doesnt use him. He is a defensive midfielder. Lacks in the tactical game but an effective defender in the midfield. Very quick. He has been here for many years. Bought from Gaziantep.
Fabio Pinto- I think he was a hot prospect once but now he cant do anything. A bench player.
    Besiktas:
Antonio Carlos Zago- Bought from Roma. Very good player. But he is not a good sportsman. He should be red carded in every game he starts.
Ronaldo- I think he came from Benfica or Sporting Lisbon but I am not sure. Plays in the middle of the back 3 in Besiktas defence. One of the most important players in Turkey and he was chosen the best foreign player last year. But he is a little out of form at the moment.
along with these players there are many more in the smaller clubs who are named like Milton, Olievera...
And Gaziantep has many Brazilian players. They go and buy young players then sell them. They earn a lot from this business. For example, Lima who plays for Roma was brought by Gaziantep to Europe. And they have a famous old Brazilian player who played for the national team in the past.

    Bump!

Did Viola returned to his club in Turkey? Which was it btw?

I know he fled Turkey by the time of the Iraqi crisis. He didn't feel enough secured to stay there, for what I know.

At the time, best Brazilian player in Turkey are:

Fabio Luciano: I think he was the captain of Corinthians. Plays really well in Fenerbahce. He scored 5 goals.
Marcio Nobre: He was playing in Cruzerio. Came to Fenerbahce in the mid season. Played 17 games and scored 12. He s not playing like a Brazilian. Plays like a Dutch player, preesses opponents and closing down every minute of the game.
Marco Aurelio: Played for clubs Olama, Bangu, Flamengo and came to Trabzonspor. Fenerbahce bought him last year. Consistent player playing defensive midfielder. Tireless midfielder.
Cesar Prates: Came to Galatasaray from Sporting Lisbon. Has excellent free kicks. Hes a pacey defender. But leaving the club free this summer.
Batista: Defensive Midfielder of Galatasaray. Plays like Roma's Lima. Hes a talented player but he's leaving the club too.
Antonio Carlos Zago: Now that he's 33 years old. He is incapable of playing well. He played at Roma. He's a winner but executes very harsh fouls. Elbows and kicks opponents out of referees sight.Playing for Besiktas.Leaving the club this summer.
Ronaldo: I dont know which club he came from. Good defender.Plays for Besiktas.
As you asked, Viola was a good player but I dont know where he plays now? He used to play for Gaziantepspor.
Cesar: Plays for Gaziantepspor. Speedy forward. Doesnt have many skills.
Fabio Pinto: Used to play for Galatasaray. Now plays for -İ dont know?? :) - Used to call him wonderkid in Galatasaray. Now he is lost.

These are the major players in Turkey.
But now Fenerbahce is in the verge of signing Cruzerios attacking midfielder Alex. They want and need him so badly.

I really dont remember any Brasilian coaches in Turkey other than Pereira who coached Fenerbahce..

Players of Brazil played in Turkey are .....

late 80's... Eder, Falcao and two other Brazilian nationals played in the newly promoted Malatyaspor. I think they were the first Brazilians of the Turkish League....

Most famous Brazilians that played in Turkey are....

Mario Jardel - Claudio Taffarel - Conceicao - Alex - Felipe and rest are avarage. And Turkish League has currently 49 Brazilians

    Hey everybody,

One of my favorite players EVER Alex unfortunately (for me) moved to Turkey a couple of years ago, since then I have never been able to watch him play again with the exception of a few highlights unless it was for the Seleção but even then he does not get to play to often because sadly Kaká,Ronaldinho, and Juninho Pernambucano play the same position as him.

My questions for all Turkish football fans but specially to the Fenerbahce fans are:

How has Alex been doing in the past 2 seasons?

How did he do in 2004?And how has he been doing in the present season?Which performance has been better?

For the Fenerbahce fans,is he what you expected when you signed him?Better then you expected?Worst?

Has he been given any individual awards for performance such as best foreign player in the league?

Thank you guys so very much,It was the worst losing him as a Cruzeiro fan,but it was a loss for all of Brasil because in 2003 Alex gave one of the greatest individual performances I've ever seen and lead Cruzeiro to ALL titles in Brasil its a shame we cannot see him anymore. If anybody knows a website where I can see his highlights in Turkey I would also appreciate it,Thanks Again :)
