Do we seriously need to start calling peeps out?! Come and confess your sins. Oh yeah, bumppity bump bump.
I was wrong about Carrick. I would always correct people when the talked about the 18 million transfer fee and say 14 million. I thought he'd be good, but he's been even better than that. Now, I proudly say 18 million and consider it money well spent.
Oshi- I was very gladly wrong in my prediction that United would fail to score enough goals this season to come close to Chelski, let alone win the damn thing. I wasn't wrong when I said Arsenal would be sucking my balls during May though.
Well i was wrong when i underestimated Cristiano and overrated Richardson. I remember saying we should sell Ronaldo to Madrid as he doesn't have an end product and wouldn't amout to his potential...Boy was i wrong! I also thought that we should hail Richardson as our new Messiah... i do not need to state how wrong i have been but i admit i am extremly disappointed in Richardson, he was one of the star players in West Brom's relegation survival, scores two decent goals on his England Debut, stood out at youth level, comes to the Man united and doesn't seem like he cares, and doesn't show any positive qualities in a footballer... On another note...I have never had the balls to critiscise SAF..i thought winning a double twice was incredible...let alone winning a treble..
I was wrong... I didn't want Ruud to leave. I think I eventually came around to seeing us being better off without him, but I really wondered just where the goals were coming from. I was really wrong about Ole and Rossi. I felt for sure Ole would be completely insignificant and he scored in double figures this season no? I felt for sure Rossi would light up the prem at Newcastle and earn a starting/bench role here in the 2nd half of the season. I figured that Fletcher would be mediocre for another season. I was wrong about Phil Bardsely being able to spell Gary Neville, he's not in the managers plans. I was wrong about Richardson, I thought at some point he'd come relatively good. I was wrong about O'Shea he's still shite, but he keeps scoring goals.
You really believe that SAF would have been this reticent in the market the past two years if he had the choice? Truly?
For all of the C.U.N.T's (bumping it for the coming season, if it happens); I truly can't believe so many people are against bringing in Tevez, mind boggling.
I think we can probably all happily admit to being wrong about our intake of players this off-season. Anyone really thought that, after Hargreaves, we would be bringing in the likes of Nani, Anderson and (possibly) Tevez?
I visit this site frequently. I very rarely post as I find a lot of the users are more knowledgeable and I figure I will learn more if i do some surveying if i may, of this website. I feel compelled to post in this thread so here I go. It all started right after ManU won the league and Beckham left. I am a Portuguese Canadian, so when I started watching soccer at the turn of the millenium I was not really a fan of any single british team, but more of a fan of anything portugal. Every saturday the EPL is broadcasted, so I,ve been watching it since I've been a fan of the game. Originally all everything I ever heard from everyone was always a biased opinion in England of ManU. I always heard how great they are, and that the giggs beckham et al are so great blah blah blah. This all rubbed me the wrong way as the soccer i was seeing them play wasn't as great as I had been hearing and told of. I thoguht they were all washed up bums and that everyone was still stuck back in the year they won the treble. Things changed slightly when Cristiano came. I wouldnt say this made me a fan of United, but it made me want to watch the games to see how he was performing. With Ronaldo being at Manu i found myself also reading up on United aswell. Even when Cristiano was playing i thought the rest of the team was garbage, and that everyone needed to adopt a what have you done for me lately attitude. I thought big changes needed to be done if ManU wanted t challenge for title, even Europe. Abramhovich?..... comes and injects all the money into chelski (i dont know why ppl write it this way... but it feels cool to do it) and i never understood what effect this would have ont eh soccer world. I never paid much heed to it. After more insight and being able to form my own opinion of ManU, i found myself liking and enjoying watching them more and more. Soon, even with the Portuguese contingent at Chelski, i wanted ManU to win, not because of Cristiano, but because they are my team. I feel the ManU vs Chelski is a debate of good vs evil, right vs wrong, well you get the picture. Anyone can mentally say they like a team, and perhaps try to force themselves. I feel for Manchester United, i emotionally am tied to the club, for their ups and downs these past couple of seasons have been my ups and downs. Getting up at 7 in the morning after a night at the bars was well worth it to watch our boys in red take on the rest of England. I thought this team should go for a major overhaul, and that everyone was stuck in the past. I was wrong. I love Manchester United, which is something I thought i would never say a couple years ago. Lets bring back another treble.
Hey nice thread u hv here I admit that I was wrong about Saha I thought he was a better player than this he missed alot this season and he wasn't willing to push him self for the good of the team. and I was also worng about Fletcher I thought he won't be in the first line ever at least that season but I knew I was wrong after he saves us in Middlesbrough and I admitted it infront of all after the game of ACMilan home
I have got quite a few things wrong recently. Like someone whop posted before I wrote Giggs off totally about a year or so ago. He was average, inconsistant and quite frankly, Ronaldo's willingness to run at people was showing him up. However, he has been key to our success again and shown why he's been at the top for as long as he has been. I knew Carrick had talent and never doubted it. I just didn't expect him to play as well as he has done. Confidence was his biggest barrier to success but plasying with Rooney, Ronaldo and Neville will have helped him out and he's stamping his authority on games more and more. He'll be a real asset in years to come. One player who I was wrong about was Louis Saha. I was convinced when we signed him that he would be a great asset for us, but he's bee nothing but trouble. His constant and seemingly endless injury problems only serve to cause disruption to the first team who never know when he'll be back. What's more, he has no heart and it's been suggested that he isn't willing to put up with the slightest bit of discomfort in order to beat his prolems which says to me "lack of heart". That is something you could never level at Smith........
And despite the crickets chirping, I was not alone. However, I think today is the definitive moment to declare wrong-headedness. Tevez and Rooney have been clicking more and more in the past few games and the partnership is now fruitful (didn't really take long at all) with both players looking dangerous and scoring. I probably need a few more games before I can analyze and elaborate clearly on what I like so much that I'm seeing developing between the two of them, but for now: it's just so gooood. Sir Alex >>>> Sapphire (this time ).
Definitely agree with Sapph. I was a hater for this move, but he is getting his work in now and looking well with Rooney. Hope the goals start coming for him as well.
I thought Ronaldo was a shoe in or close contender for the WPOTY award. Then Kaka got double the votes he did and destroyed him. Messi beat him too. So I was wrong. I was wrong about Tevez too. He's awesome.
