Glenn Davis has the scoop. Here are some links on him: Official Crew Bio (probably not up for long) Profile in Coastal Carolina Magazine Profile in Zimbabwe Soccer
Makes sense (kinda) for both teams. Crew need more muscle & experience up front, Dynamo could use a little raw speed to keep the defenders honest. Only thing is that Ngwenya never impressed me in his time with the Galaxy, and his time with the Crew hasn't changed that impression. He's fast as all hell, but has little composure. A ball will come from the mid-field, and he'll sprint past two defenders to get the ball. Only problem is that he went so fast he ended up back in the midfield.
I couldn't be happier about this. We all knew that Moreno's days were numbered. Nguenya is a fast little so and so..... I remember his play last season when here.
Re: Dalglish vs Moreno What the ********? I don't ********ing get this ********ing shit this guy isn't an upgrade. Maybe this guy will play in midfield when Clark leaves and now Moreno, Dalglish, and Ching will be our strike force.
i personally think this a good move for the dynamo....moreno had his time and didn't impress that much...he is good at causing fouls and holding the ball but we already have a forward who holds the ball in ching...with the right coaching by dom this guy (Ngwenya) who already has blazing speed could become a huge asset for the team
the only thing a worry about is at the games i saw a bunch of moreno shirts and now that he is gone i still hope the fans will be there to support the team
Re: Dalglish vs Moreno This guy has some real skill at mid field , He's a speedy Gonzales,(no offense) and could really help our forwards and mid field. Let's face it. Moreno was not happy here and it showed in his play. It was time for him to go ....to borrow a line from the Democract convention
Re: Dalglish vs Moreno speed kills remember and this guys got it....dom and the rest of the staff can help him out with his mechanics
It's always sad to see players leave a team, Morena was a big part of the Dynamo, and regardless of what people thought about him, he did have some big games with the team. That said, I think it will be good for the Dynamo.
Joesph is an amazing player. We've followed his career for a awhile and are big fans. Still, Alejandro can be amazing too. He just hasn't found his footing in Houston. I guess whatever happens ...happens. Just means my little guy is going to shed a few tears and miss another friend. On the upside he already has a Crew jersey on the way so a trade won't cost us any money...unlike Kevin. We are having a Toronto jersey ordered for him as a surprise. Gets expensive when his buddies move to a new club !! Though a good few of them send him their new jersey too so I guess I can't complain.
Ngwenya is a huge upgrade from Moreno, IMO. This guy has actually scored a goal in the last 9 months or so.
Morena..? Was that a faux paux or a subliminal message? LOL BTW: Nice job merging these threads Anderson... You waste no time do ya?
Ooops, no, I actually like Moreno. Maybe my fingers think different. Actually I've been typing badly all day, don't know what's wrong..... I was thinking about him on Glenn's show last Friday, he was actually sort of funny. I think we'll miss him. But I wouldn't worry about the lack of Latin players, we need a good team, not specifically a Latin team. At least the stadium announcer does his part, announcing "Dwayne DeRrrrrrrosario" as Spanishly as he can, even though I don't think Canadian/Carribean Dwayne even speaks Spanish.
This is an upgrade for the Dynamo. Ngwenya has much more of an upside than Moreno. Several games I've seen him play where he was dangerous and good on the ball. Then he disappears for a couple of games. Compared to Moreno, who I haven't seen really produce since moving to Texas. As others said, Ngwenya should in theory play better with Ching because he is a player that can make runs off of the forward that holds the ball well like Ching does. Much like Moreno, Ngwenya could spell DeRo if needed.
If I'm not mistaken, Sigi was the coach of the Gals when they brought Alejandro in, so he's essentially trading one of his former Galaxy players in Ngwenya, to acquire another one of his former players in Moreno. And while his name is pronounced "en-GWEN-yuh," I think you can still call him Whoopi. Welcome to the team, bro.
I think you have to give them more credit than that-they root for the Orange and not the player (hopefully).
I've been a defender of Moreno but I have to say I like this trade. Ngwenya is younger, faster, and won't be gone in the middle of the summer and let's face it...I think Dom has gotten the better end of every trade he's made while in Houston thus far (Serioux for O'Rourke and I think the Mulrooney for Goldthwaite and a pick is already looking to be a steal). Good move. That said, Ale...I will miss you. Thanks for the memories and nothing but the best for you in Columbus.
