yeh well i would say on an average day for both teams bolton would beat internacional, as well they are from clearly the most competative confederation uefa and from the english premiership the most popular and competative league in the world, there was a a poll around the world and based on ticket sales(on fifa.com) the most popular leagues were

    1.premiership(englands top league)
    2.La Lega (Spanish top league)
    3.Bundesliga (germanys top league)
    4.Championship (englands second best league)

well done on winning the fifa club world cup in 2006 btw but i have to say, but what is disapointing is that no one really cares about it in uefa as it wasnt mentioned once on sky sports news good footie programe and didnt hear any one talk about it, and if i asked any of my mates about it they would no what i was talking about. i checked on uefa.com every match day of the cwc to see if there was anything on about it but no i had to use a search function on it and there was one page on it about barca losing, but i enjoy the competiton only way i get info on it is fifa.com

ps world wide bolton are prob more well known

and for me inverness caladonian thistle??? hahahahahahahahaha, o well my home team not much i can do, although we were formed in 1994 and within 10 years got all the way to the spl (spl??? hahaha)

are you talking about a singer called michael bolton????

    ahahahahahaah a

on the end of the day, Internacional still is a WORLD CUP WINNER (sanctioned by FIFA) and has a tradition and history that comes from a country FIVE TIMES WORLD CUP winner as well (beat that england ahaha) and Internacional has provided Brasil (and why not to say the world) with many of his exciting great players defending both Inter and the Brasilian National team as Taffarel, Falcao, Batista, Dunga, Lucio, Daniel Carvalho and many others..

who that we could mention has ever being a backup singer for bolton???

    ahahahaha

    I rest my case!

I don't think it's any coincidence that most threads you get involved in end up being closed down.

You clear don´t understand about football in south america...

Fotball here is pure passion... something capable to move anger and love... something capable to make you cry like never in a libertadores game.

When I said that I hate Internacional I was talking about pure south american and brazilian rivalry...

Passion and hate are two different things, my friend.

No need to hate on your rival. Just cheer for your team to beat them into the ground, then say "nice game"... nothing better than showing respect after a big win.

    Fulham 1-0 Liverpool. Respect.

Well, hate is part of the football culture (atleast in South America). I, for example, can't imagine life without hating Boca Juniors. It just wouldn't be the same.

When I say that I hate a club doesn´t means that I´ll try to kill o oposing fan or something like that... I don´t hate the person but the club and what that club represent. As Riverloko said... it´s part of our culture of football. Just that.

scotish , oh.. I see. Talking about scotland and futebol???

fifakid, the only thing you saved me was the laugh

as for bandeirante and the argies...

I agree with you all, the only thing I hate more than gremio is gremio fans! I do hate all of them, they colors, flags, jersey and stadiums. I hate Sao Paulo on the Brasileirao or Libertadores, but I did cheer for them in the CWC 2005, they are brasilians after all.

I think one reason this FIFA club championship , whether it's today's Club World Cup or the old Intercontinental Cup, struggles to gain a following is because it doesn't bring about the sort of national pride and passion the way the World Cup does.
For example, I remember back in 1996 when Juventus defeated River Plate. The next day I watched a Boca Juniors match and there was a banner behind one of the goals that simply said "Gracias Juventus".
Same in 2003 after Boca defeated Milan. I watched an Inter Milan Serie A game later that day and there was a banner that said "Grazie Boca".

One might think that a country would gather together in support if one of their national club teams was competing for a world championship, but the fact is club rivalries run deeper than national pride and it could be to the detrimant of a tournament like the FIFA Club World Cup being successful.

National pride?? It's impossible to talk about national pride when it comes to european teams simply because most of them are almost entirely filled with mercenarios from foreign countries. When a South American team plays an european team is a full south american team versus a combination of everywhere else. That's why there's no pride on it. Arsenal from England, no english players.. go figure that out.

You mention local rivalrie and that's not the case for the entire country. If a Brasilian team is playing for a world cup I will cheer for them, despite the fact I'm an Internacional fan, with the exception of gremio obviously and perhaps CUrintians and fluminense who I don't hate as I do gremio I just despise them. When Sao Paulo played Liverpool I did cheer for them, shall any other team play in the cup I wil do the same and I'm sure a lot of Brasilian people were for Internacioal in 2006, over the world the barcelona groupies were ready to kiss the barca's behind and the game was watched in over 90 countries, so I don't buy this crap of (no one cared) had they won their groupies would care, but since they got they're a$$ kicked all of sudden barcelonas groupies (that follow them anywhere from everywhere) don't care anymore. You guys are sore losers.
