ESPN knocks FCD down 4 spots for the unbearable crime of not playing a game. LOL. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/powerranking?league=USA.1&season=2007&week=5&cc=5901
Seems like Daniel's overrating FCD a bit by ranking them #6. From what I've seen so far, a #8 or #9 ranking seems appropriate. Especially if recent performance is given a bit more weighting than performance weeks or months ago (which is the case in almost all rankings I'm familiar with).
I would tend to agree. Bottom 3rd of the league seems about right. The Eastern Conference is firing on all cylinders right now, and the West is dealing with a lot of transition. RSL is a state of constant flux. LAG is terribly inconsistent. HOU finally looks like the team from last year, it only took them a month. FCD is, well, pure crap. COL is able to eek out wins from time to time, but the better teams seem to expose their weaknesses. CHV is a complete flippin' mystery.
could be the way things are shaking up that dallas could miss the playoffs and dc who is rebounding could take the fourth spot in the playoffs for the west away...how horrible would that be for houston or colorado to have to play the first round against dc
Or maybe we are 5 weeks into this long season and there really is no reason to knee jerk. Just sayin'.
YEAH YOUR RIGHT BUT.... Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys 1st round exits for each I am not really feeling optimistic at this point in time and having to sit next to the only FIRE FAN in dallas at the game last Sunday did not help.
BTW, anybody see these shirts for sale on Cafepress? http://www.cafepress.com/buy/dallas+soccer/-/pv_design_details/pg_1/id_19191261/opt_/fpt_/c_360/
BTW who is the Inferno fan with the pink head...Cudos to him my kid would not shut up about how cool he thought he was!!!!
Did anyone even notice him? I didn't see him there. I guess the most appropriate chant would have been something like....."Hey, dumbass, the fire aren't playing here".
Possibly, though I don't think it should be underestimated what getting Sala back will mean to the team. He may not be the captain, but he's the emotional leader on and off the field.
