Thi is Amado Guevarra's current situation:

First, he was traded to Chivas USA from the Red Bull.

Then, Amado was unhappy with coach Preki's expectations.

Amado did not play well in the "super Clasico" vs LA Galaxy. Preki wanted to win this game badly, in order to erase any doubt about his coaching skills and team present situation/future. Since Amado did not put a big show, Preki sent Amado to the shower. Amado takes this move too personal and sent Preki home packing. Amado cleaned his locker. Toronto learned about Amado's current situation. They proposed a trade to bring Amado to Toronto and believe it or not Toronto got the green light from MLS, Chivas USA agreed with the trade. After learning about the Trade, Guevarra refused to be traded to Toronto. Amado never got along with Coach Johnston in first place, which makes total sense to me. After learning about Guevarra's refusal to play in Toronto, the deal was stopped. Preki does not want Amado in the team anymore. As a consequence, Amado Guevarra is unofficially out of MLS.

From the way the story is being painted, would be it unfair to say that Guevara is a bit of a headcase?

Talented, undoubtedly. But held back by his own ego?

When can we make it official? His pre madonna attitude is bad for MLS. I really don't know how much money will Vergara/Cue will loose, but he needs to go.

I agree with both of you. As of now, there is not place in MLS for Amado Guevarra. We are all dissapointed with him. We kept giving him chances after chances, but he remains the same old Amado.

ESPN said he rejected the chase to be traded to Colorado, Columbus and FC Dallas too.

There are three teams where Guevarra can easily play or at least get along, the Rapids, FC Dallas, and possibly DC United.

He can find light after the tunnel in Colorado since Fernando Clavijo is the coolest guy on earth and might have the patient to deal with Guevarra.

FC Dallas has a lot of south/central american players. This can be the key for Amado.

DC= this is the type of player they are looking for.

But if I'm a GM in MLS, I wouldn't give him the time of day. He sounds like a bit of a flawed genius -- moreso "flawed" than "genius", really.

There's a lot of risk in taking him on, and it's not really worth it, IMO. Could be dangerous to team chemistry, at the very least, and that's just scratching the surface.

    How so?

DC brought in Fred as a right-sided player, but also for his ability to play in the middle. With Gomez not agreeing to a new contract, it stands to reason that Fred is seen as a replacement should Gomez go elsewhere.

Besides, what good would it do DC to have Guevara, Gomez, and Fred playing in the midfield? They'd all want the ball (not to mention Moreno or even Emilio), and their would have to be an an air of animosity by having them all play at the same time and not being able to see the ball often enough.

From a finacial standpoint, DC would be better served by bringing in a wide player, not another centrqal midfielder. Even worse, Guevara lacks the defensive bite to make it tactically worthwhile.

There are simply too many holes in that guess for it to even muster an ounce of credibility.

Amado suddenly became a defender or a pure winger? Wow, I didn't know that. Seriously, Amado has nothing that DC is looking for.

    Guevara: Good Riddens?

I think so, he was selfish and not a team player, very bad for team "chemistry"

Apologies for the "riddance" typo in title

Thanks JLG, but this was created specifically for polling purposes, something lacking in the post thread you refer to.

El Lobo has ran away back to his home in Honduras with his tail between his legs. Goodbye & good ridance. He is so skilled, yet his ego is so inflated.

Run away little boy and never come back.

I enjoyed watching him when he played soccer, but to make it professionally, you need to have some control over your own passion.

Too bad he lacks that. I hope he gets his head together someday. Sorry we won't see that happen.

How's his post-madonna attitude? Did it change after Like a Virgin or more recently?

BTW, the term is Italian, Prima (First) Donna (Lady). And started as a descriptive term for the lead soprano in an opera.

The problem with Amado is that "he knows" he is good. When you know you are good, you either be humble or be an arrogant mother F***** if you know what i mean. Amado is a spoiled child. He's problems with any single team he ever played incluiding the National team of Honduras where he needs to serve an one year suspension. That year suspension needs to be served in Honduras. Meaning that would need to play one full year for a team in Honduras ( no USA or else ), in order to be eligible to play again in his national team. We are all very dissapointed at Amado. I'm a proud Hispanic man, you all know that, but I do have eyes, ears and pride and I think that Amado is classless at this point. I hope that one day he sees himself at a mirror and, think and work in his personality. I'm sure that even his family is not happy because they are being put on a very difficult situation. His kid's been changing to different school districts because of him and that is cruel.
