Why is Gattusso named Rino? I was watching the build up on ESPN and kept thinking who the hell are they talking about, then they show Gattusso and I'm like what
I think it's because of his playing style. He plays with a lot of heart, and he goes after every ball full steam ahead. Gattuso is a rhino out on the field. I think this is why he is nicknamed rino.

My grandmother called me Gennarino or Gerri, my uncles call me Gerri Nino(using my middle name so there is no confusion with my cousin - Gennaro (they call him Gerri Grande!) my father always calls me Gennaro, and my mother calls me Ge'Ge'. As a child, it was pretty confusing, especially since Gennaro (patron Saint of Naples) is an extremely common name in bella Napoli. A close friend of mine back home goes by Rino. Confused enough? For the record, September 19th is the day of San Gennaro. Every year on 19 September, dried blood from the beheaded San Gennaro liquifies in its ampoule at the Duomo (cathedral) of Naples. This centuries-old phenomenon inspires awe and scepticism in equal measures, not only on the saint's feast day but again on the first Saturday in May and for a third time on 16 December. To get a glimpse of the miracle, crowds arrive early and surge into the cathedral when the doors open. A silver bust of the saint is placed next to the altar and the ampoule is shown to the faithful and then slowly turned. Traditional prayers are said and these heighten to a crescendo as the blood liquifies.
