the Beijing & Tianjin derby has the longest history in Chinese football, was started from 1956 and it's a real derby. Shanghai VS Zhejiang has no history

From what I remember, only Liaojing, Shandong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong,Tianjing, Bayi were quite competitive in the 80s. No other teams even come close to those "original 7".

Ha ha. Typical Shanghainese comment :)

History or not, it's good to have some kind of local interest... and hopefully some fans will be coming

Greentown doesn't need to ship fans from Zhejiang. Blue devils will cheer for them against Shenhua.

To be honest I don't quite understand the fuss. Basically what has happened is Zhu Jun bought Shenhua, closed United, and took what he thought was the best staff from both. It's not really a "merger" - sure, Wu Jinggui was fired which I didn't agree with, and some of the old Shenhua squad sidelined, but other than that, the name and colours remain unchanged.

The most significant thing is that Shanghai United had no fans - they only existed for one year. When Shenhua played them at Yuanshen last year, there was a hundred or so ultras who had a banner identifying them as ex- Inter Shanghai fans. If a team doesn't even have any fans, and only existed for a year, then seems that it's a very one-sided merger at best.

I think for the Shenhua support its more of a personal clash with Zhu Jun who is perhaps being seen as a big boss coming in and meddling with their club. I also think the fact Shenhua are playing at Yuanshen this year instead of their spiritual home, Hongkou, is making things worse. Yuanshen is a poor stadium atmosphere-wise, Hongkou much better.

Hey guys, I managed to catch the Shenzhen - Shandong tie held in Shenzhen yesterday. Although the match was boring I had a great time and the atmosphere was great in the stadium. I caught some phrases the shenzhen fans were chanting such as "Xia Pi hwan Xia Pi" when Shandong had a sub and I thought it was hilarious. I noticed Chinese fans like to curse the players a lot. I bought the ticket for 10RMB thru the brokers below, but little did I know I could get it for a better deal because as soon as I went inside there was a milk stand and they were saying, if you buy a box of milk for 10RMB, you will get a ticket as well :D I'm guessing the milk company is one of Shenzhen's sponsor. Tickets are very cheap and I have to admit that the attendances are better than Korea. - Way better.

Here I put some pictures for you, let them do the talking. ;)

This was the milk stand LOL - The tickets were selling like hot cakes due to their 'milk' promo. LOL

The stadium itself, (Unfortunately there were tracks but I had a good seat, the match kicked off at 6.30PM and this was 5 minutes before kickoff. As you can see a lot of vacant seats, ppl started flocking in by the minute) But the stadium was only half full.

it's true Zhu Jun never had the trust of Shenhua fans. He was known as a boss who like to interfere with the management and coaching of the team. When he was with Shanghai 9 city in China league B couple of years ago, all the coaching decisions had to be approved by him. He sent down Du wei to the reserve because he ""made errors and lacked match fitness". Why didn't he send down all the other players who didn't play well?
Of course zhu jun is not alone in CSL or in professional sports. eg. ChangSha Jinde, Florida Marlins. Many bosses treat players and coaches like slaves and used fans when they need them for their own purpose.

Watch Zhu Jun's pet, Shenhua "general consultant" Zhang Defa(because he is a Fifa authorized player agent so can't really hold real club management position) blaming Shanghaiese press for making up story in this video.

Anyway, the arrival of Zhu jun gives Shanghaiese something to rebel against.

great pictures!!! Shenzhen probably knew they had no chance against the champion.
Most CSL clubs can't cover much of their expense with the ticket sales. They are mostly enterprise sponsored so channels for selling products.

Just hope Shangdong can win and help Wang Yangpo and Zhou Haibin become a regular starter for our national team. But To me I think Li Jinyu is a garbage.
