Plz merge if ever the old thread materialises....

So anyways, I've been real good of late, have kept my purchasing down to a minimum, helped by disliking the vapor3 and not wanting to but "old" boots, and still sticking to my new-found religion of Nike (tho I do love the absolutes.....)
So I hadn't spent much on soccer cleats, and in truth my trainer spending had been sensible. But then the Jordan 3's dropped in my clubs colors, and I assumed I could use my US military connex to get them super fast and cheap...
Only things don't work out sooo easy, and I couldn't get them shipped on a steal. So I left it, figuring my cheapskate nature would figure something out. And I left it. Then I thought I could get sum1 to abuse footlocker's "shoe finder" and get them posted to my house, only footlocker had removed the particular shoe from the program, and were allegedly sold out of it europe-wide...strange as it was a general release but what do I know...
So then I see that the "Old love/new love" package dropped this weekend, and whilst I don't even like J1's, it's remarkable value, 2 pairs of collectors shoes for £130, and mebe, just mebe, if I could get to laaandun, mebe I could chance accross a pair of fire red 3's if I trauled around every store in the capital....
So off I trot, grab a train, head south. The emirates is still admittedly impressive, as loathed as I am to do so....Tube it to Oxford circus, straight outside NikeTown, straight into the BBall section, and dude remembered me from 6 months back when I copped my 3M 5's, perhaps an old white man in a du-rag is strange even for laaandun...
He's like "yo, u wot the BMP?" and gets me the collectors box in my size....
and thats when I knew I was in trouble...

BMP or Old Love New Love, £130 for shoes I don't even like.....

Wait, Fire Reds in my size!!! COP...

Could be that I used to play basketball when I was younger but I really never cared about my shoes and thats the thing Jordans are so expensive and well I trash a lot of my shoes if I get a ball to play footy in if I see one! Sorry for interrupting your flow! :D

I am not as much as a casual shoe junkie as I was when I was in middle school and high school. At one point I had about 40 pairs of shoes in my rotation of day to day footwear, but that was in high school and worked in a FootAction so I got made discounts and free shoes through promotions.

At this point I have a lot of casual shoes but I don't wear all of them that much.

I have 2 pairs of all white Air Force 1 lows, 2 pairs of New Balence 574's (one all white, one grey), a pair of low navy blue Converse Chucks, white Jack Purcells, white Diesels, 2 pairs of Nike Free 5.0's, the original white and silver Nike shox basketball shoes, Nike shox running shoes, some weird Nike Air Max runners that have this beautiful yet awful flames on the mesh, some retro style Nike tennis shoes that are royal blue and some Nike Waffle runners in grey and royal, Adidas Somoa in white and royal. I have some navy Vans skate shoes as well but I never really wear them anymore. Oh yeah two pairs of Converse Ox lows one in all white and one in white and navy.

Away from sneakers I have a very nice and expensive pair of Boss black lace ups, black low cut slip on dress shoes from Aldo, some brown ones from Aldo as well, a pair of GBX black casual round toe boots, GBX driving shoes in brown (got them for the Jamaica trip), Tan Durango ankle cut zip up boots and similar brown pair from Aldo. And two pairs of Clarkes Wallibes (bees way leather in dark brown, and the standard sand color)

I also have a few pairs of Doc Martins that I have had forever, one is like a sandal/clog thing, the other low cut black boots in a brushed leather, and some brown boots that are a little different than the standard boot.

Ok I have way more shoes than I realized but this is nothing close to where I was back in the day.

Ok just found more.....two pairs of Durango slip on boots, one in med brown, the other in black, one pair of white and green Puma trainers, another pair of all black puma trainer that look like biking shoes and a pair of low cut Timberland boots but the are a little more J. Crew than work boot style if that makes sense.

Naw, they're not like that shiny material.. they're weird.. and also sent me a size 9 instead of 8, so I don't really wear them very often, since when I walk, the toe like folds in half...

Case, nice to see you copped the old love/new love package. It was a MESS out here, damn near close to riots, sneakerheads running through the malls, and over security guards...Damn you for copping the fire red IIIs...;) nice pickups man.

I picked up a pair of adidas megabounce for running. They are amazing. Comfy right out the box, no break in, so i picked up a second pair for casual wear.

And sort of on topic, Picked up a black/white melo syracuse jersey to match the 5.5 Melo all stars...I'm lovin it....

Couldn't agree more, Not the greatest fan of any of the new J's, but the 18's were sweetens, some of the fakes colorways were ridiculous, still almost wish I'd got the purple suede pimitastic pink soles...almost!

I guess it's just a culture thing, the more hip-hop culture is heavil influenced by US sporting culture, hence the love of hi-tops etc. Then the more chavy street culture tends to be into tennis shoes, people who wear running shoes with outfits they think look smart (ie jeans and shirts). Dress shoes are a different story, but honestly, the human foot is not pointy, so I can't stand guys who wear pointy shoes.
For some reason I excuse this rule for hot girls....

I was going to get a pair of bright pink ones, with a more 'hotter' pink lining... they were soo sweeet.

Such a good pair of shoes.
