I think that will clinch Diop going out - at least on loan - to Wigan.

Coleman said: "All in all I think we have had a very successful transfer period and I'm looking forward to pushing on now and climbing the table and I've no doubt the new additions will help us do that."

Sounds like that's it for now. So what do people think. Good transfer window for us, yes?

I think it was a great transfer window for us. Montella, Dempsey, Smertin, and Davies. added depth and class to our midfield, got a true D-mid, and two very versital midfielders - one who can play foward if needed and one who can play RB if needed. Great window for the Whites.

Complete opposite, Lee Chun Soo is a 25 year old, short and speedy striker. He's known for his skill in free kicks but like other Korean players, has trouble finishing. He played a few years in La Liga but never was more than a bench player (and never scored a goal in 3 years). His national team performance has been underwhelming too, as he really hasn't done much since the 02 World Cup. However, it seems like all these managers see something in this guy, as this will be the 4th Premier league club to go after him (in addition to past Spanish interest).

And I promise not to act like a fanboy and post all these Lee Chun Soo compilations. Mostly because I can't find any.

So like Heidar except he can free kick, he's Korean, and can't finish. Put both of them together, and we'll have a near-complete striker!

Lee scored the free kick goal against Togo in the WC.

He's a freekick specialist. Here's a goal of his against Greece recently in England.

He's fast and got good skills altogether. Attitude was a problem before but we'll see how it goes. He says he's changed.

    An update for all :

Claus Jensen has left the team and blasted Sanchez's longball tactics. Tomasz Radzinski has also left Fulham after a appearance-based contract was not signed in december so his current deal has expired. Lastuvka, Routledge, and Montella have all left the club after the conclusion of their loan deals. Mark Crossley and Mark Pembridge have both been relased as their contracts have expired and were not renewed.

Aussie Leijer ready for Fulham move

    August 02, 2007
MELBOURNE Victory football manager Gary Cole says Adrian Leijer is ready to make a mark in the English Premier League after being offered a three-year contract by Fulham.
Victory's board is considering the proposal and Cole said today negotiations about the transfer fee were progressing well.

"It's obviously a commercial negotiation now between the two clubs but I think we're pretty close," Cole said.

"We've responded positively to that request, which is a great opportunity for Adrian obviously. Fulham is a famous club in England."

The 21-year-old's extensive apprenticeship includes a stint at the Victorian Institute of Sport and international experience with Australia's under-17, under-20 and under-23 teams at youth-level World Cups and Olympic qualifying campaigns.

Cole said Leijer's Fulham offer was a fantastic story for Australian football.

"If there was an Australian kid ... that's had a fantastic foundation and education in football, Adrian's it," Cole said.

"He's proved in a good quality competition, and make no mistake the A-League is a good quality competition, that he can play week in, week out against some of the best attackers this country has to offer.

"It's a great foundation for him and Fulham have recognised that and offered him a contract for three years."

While the loss of the club's first-choice central defender less than a month before Melbourne begins the defence of its A-League title was not ideal, Cole said the club had plenty of cover in the squad.

"Our recruitment this year has been based on covering Adrian because he would have been missing for large chunks of the season (on international duty)," Cole said.

"There's plenty of cover there when he does go. We wouldn't have responded positively if we didn't think so and obviously (coach) Ernie (Merrick) has been involved in that decision from day one."

Ljubo Milicevic and Steve Pantelidis are can play in the centre of defence, with full-backs Matthew Kemp and Joseph Keenan recruited in the off-season.

Leijer's imminent departure to Fulham, who already have Australian Ahmad Elrich on its books, follows Sydney midfield player David Carney's recent move to Sheffield United

Apparently the first offer was "abysmal" and that Melbourne Victory are just trying to get what he is worth. Somewhere in the Vicinity of $500,000 to $1 Million.
