    Uhm, OK. What skills?
Mendez has played around 4 good/great matches. Da Costa did the same.
So what do you mean with skills? Da Costa is strong in the air, and Mendez has a great shot. They both play good matches and bad matches...
What is skill? It's about how they play in matches.. And in matches they are both as good...
They were both important in the first knocout round..
Da Costa in the first match, my MotM and Mendez with a important goal and assist!. They both had a great debut with a goal... And they both played a few terrible matches.... The only difference is the age and possition....

    Ecuas...

ignore the dutchman, aside from being blind to what happens on the court and his obvious baseless disdain for our mendez, he makes stereotypes of us on our forum...give him a white hood and robe with eye cutouts, he's some kind of a KKK grand wizard or something

nobody here says the dutch are cheap, lousy tippers, wear clogs, live in windmills, are fake rasta pot addicts, etc....

You don't know what Mendez is supposed to do... Maybe Koeman said him to shoot often towards goal....

    Paganitzu,
Thank you for comming to our board and giving us some positive or/and constructive input about our Mendez. Also thank you for showing us here that not all Dutch are as closed-minded as Paul_NL.
But what you don't know is that Paul-NL is actually Koeman himself in disguise, and only he knows what Mendez is supposed to be doing in the team. Obviously, he has been doing everything wrong. Mendez was not hired to score goals or give assists or help contain the midfield. He is the field so when the team plays bad, they can blame him.
So thank you Mr Paul_NL aka Koeman for your great input and analisys to Mendez game.

Everyone on PSV is playin like crap now, and solely put the blame on Mendez is wrong.PSV wouldn't even be playing Arsenal now if it wasn't for him, so just jump into a windmill my dutch friends and see what happens.

Watch him tonight and you will see atleast 5 times that his transition is slow as hell. Atleast 2 or 3 become scoring-chances for Pool

According to FutbolEcuador.com, Mendez is not travelling due to a knock he took on the knee.

Mendez played a good match (Paul_NL would not agree ;) )
Worked very hard, won every duel, keeped running, and had some great crosses with one assist. Unfortunately he missed a very big chance...

    PSV won with 2-0

He gets away with it against Twente because they think short passes are an art-form(which it is not offcourse) but PSV will keep on getting burned in the CL with Méndez in the team

Do not agree with that, you're right it could be fatal, but Mark v. Bommel had the same "problem". And he was still a great midfielder, and without him we wouldn't have reached the semi-final of the CL. You can't play with 11 culina's in the team, and Mendez is a player who can creat chances with his crosses and can score goals, except from Cocu he's the only player in the midfield who scores often. I still think he's an useful player to have in your squad.

Mark van Bommel's transition is about 10 times as good as Mendez and he never hides, Mendez does

No, his transition is as bad as Mendez transition... And I've never seem him hiding. But I DID see V. Bommel hiding. In season 03/04 it often looked he didn't want to get the ball.. Ofcourse Bommel is much better then Mendez, but they have some similarities..
