You're right, my mistake... I forgotten it... The CL started in 1992 if I'm right??.. Winner Marseille?? But it was a long time ago since PSV didn't reach the CL....
And yes, I know Westerhof and De Mos... I can remember that De Mos put Eric Meijer at RB or LB (I can't remember that ;) ) in a European match. A total disaster.

You're right Mendez isn't an amazing player, (I prefer Aisatti) but he has prove that he can be a useful player for PSV.. To be a first team player next year he really needs to be more constant.
But you can see he has potential, and he was/is important for PSV... You can't say that from Culina..

You want to hear me give you an argument about his skills? You want a player with better skills? Spend more money and you might get a Ronaldinho or a Ballack or a C Ronaldo...until you are ready to dish out that kind of money, he is exactly what you paid for. He has skill, and though he is definetly not world class, he is a a great all around player.
He doesn't have to win games, but he does. He certainly hasn't lost any games.

Take a bong hit with your local dutch-rasta and ask him what ignorance means. To assume all Ecuadorians live in the amazon jungle like natives and have a medicine man with a spear running through his nose would be a poor stereotype on your behalf...and though I wouldn't, some might take offence to such a comment. I find it as harmless as saying, "All dutch wear clogs and live in a windmill... "
But what you have managed to accomplish, is to discredit any argument you might have by showing your flat out ignorance...so seriously, start a PSV thread on your own elsewhere, go there and complain all you want about Mendez and the rest of the team and you can make all the ignorant side-comments you want.

when a team gets humiliated at home, people try and look for someone to blame..its a cop out for the ineptitude and all around bad play of the whole team...let's play the blame game even though the local press on more than one occasion has hailed mendez to be the man of the match both in the CL and in the dutch league games...this guy is just some disgruntled PSV fan who desperately needs to point the finger at someone else....edison mendez didn't cut it in mexico not because he lacked skill but because one of the teams was in the middle of a financial crisis and cut part of the team and the other one was because of differences with the coach...he proved his worth to PSV when he scored in his debut game and when he did what the dutch players on the field COULDN'T do against Arsenal....and for the record, just because he isn't paid as much as other players in Europe, it does not discredit him from not being world class...he's been in 2 world cups, if that's not world class when you're playing at the world stage then I don't know what is....

    you are so right.

the blame is on Mendez but you guys forget...

1.) Mendez had to adjust to the time diffrence and had little time to do so.

2.0Three main players were injured! Mendez had a tough time with this adding on to the fatigue factor. It was a bad move for Mendez to play at the friendly.

I don't care what you newbies say about Mendez. He is a class player. If you have been following his games in the past years, you would understand that.

Futbol is a team effort. You are only as strong as your weakest link.

Mendez by far is not the weakest link. PSV has weak links and the game against Liverpool proved that. Watch the game again.

Well, PSV lost today and if Ajax beats the bottom-of-the-table team their playing tomorrow, they will be level on points. Didn't see any games so I can't comment on that. All I can say is that PSV have lost their balls!!! They should forget about the Liverpool game next week and forget about the CL (they have gotten farther than expected) amd concentrate on not losing this season out!

On a personal happy note, Dortmund came out of the relegation zone today and Man U lost to Potsmouth today leaving only 3 points between them and Chelsea.

Season is over, could be easily 6-1. Luckily we have Gomes... Koeman has ruined PSV in a few months, a great archivement.... I think this was on of the worst matches I've ever seen in my life from PSV. There is no trust anymore...
After the match the player bus was stopped by the PSV fans. They wanted a explanation, after a while Cocu came and said: "We are doing our best, I've never seen this in my whole life, and I'm playing pro for 20 years, I don't know what we need to chance.....
The league standing after the winterbreak:

Either you have no clue what a good midfielder needs to do or you have not seen many games of PSV including PSV-Liverpool

He has talent yes, but he only played a few good matches (against Arsenal for example). But a lot worse matches
Same as Mendez played a few good matches... So why do you say Da Costa is a good player (he is, but he really needs to play every match on the same level) and Mendez not????

They have both played a few good matches and a lot terrible....
And Da Costa has the luck to play with Alex....

Once again, if you read my posts, you'll realize that I don't only think you are clueless in football, but in life in genreral...now go away!! Your posts serve no purpose here...

By the way...Ajax blew it. They tied and are still only 2 points behind. AZ Alkmaar (having a great UEFA Cup) are now looking for the title as well though - level on points with Ajax.
