Franchino Arrested - On Leave From Revs

  1. Franchino Arrested - On Leave From Revs

Joe Franchino was granted an indefinite leave of absence by the Revolution yesterday to “attend to personal matters,” (Read - Drinking Problem) the team announced. There was no further comment from coach Steve Nicol, club spokesman Brad Feldman or any other club representative on the matter. The Revs would only state that Franchino has left the squad while it trains in New Orleans.

The season opener is April 7 at the Chicago Fire.

This comes on the heels of a Herald report last week that the 30-year-old defender/midfielder was taken into protective custody (to sleep off his drunk) earlier this month by the Foxboro Police Department, after officers found Franchino in his SUV in the parking lot of a local hotel. Franchino’s license plate was expired and was confiscated at the scene.

We should never laugh at others misfortune or problems....except when it comes to the Revs, because as long as they have an empty trophy case, we're already laughing at them anyway.

Nah man, I would never laugh at someone who is obviously going through a rough time in his life. I'm not a fan of Franchino for obvious reasons but the guy deserves some respect, I think...

I would. Eff Joey and his blood-stained boots.

What are you doing here, anyway?

So Joey's spending some time in a federal, pound-me-in-the-ass rehab facility? Cool.

Never liked him as player thought he lacked technical ability and ran like a brute with a bad attitude all over the field.
Why he was a captain was always baffling to me and felt his altercation with Dempsey was no coincidence.
Personally knowing people close to me who have had similar problems (if it’s what I believe it to be) they have changed their lives; I sincerely wish him the best, get better not for soccer sake but for your own.

He drinks Jim Beam as a sports drink? How could no one on the team notice?

I think this was blown out of proportion just a bit.

He spent the night in the drunk tank. Gonna take some time off.

Though it was rather funny that they took his car for having expired plates.

Is the statute of limitations up yet on when he attempted to juice Boca's noggin with his boot?

  15. After reading the title the first offense that popped into my head was sodomizing cockroaches.

I figure Franchino's been suspsended for proceeding when Shalrie used the "safe word".

Can you guys grow up please? A human being is in a rough time and you guys just want to crack jokes at it? Grow the **** up. Now trash me all you want, I'm not coming back into this thread.

  19. I would rather have heard about how Joey was pulled over drunk & in women's clothing with one of the tranny escorts, but I'll just settle for him being an alki for now.

If and when he does show up at TP again, I S8 has banners up of his car tag and jangles their keys every time he touches the ball.

    Waaah! Waaaah! Waaaaaaaah!

I don't care if that cockroach sodomizing, farm animal felching freak Franchino was a Nobel Laureate. F*ck him, and the wagon he fell off of.

    Chi - ca - go!
You two have a little spat? Need a little time alone to sort things out? Maybe a weekend up in the Berkshires. Together. Rustic cabin. Crackling fire. Some sparkling cider. Bearskin rug.

Now we should not take delight in the problems of others.

But I fully expect a "Rehab's for quitters!!" chant when he returns.

The way the article reads it was only his license plate they confiscated.

Isnt this like Tony Larussa the other day? Passed out in a parked vehicle? Larussa gets a DUI and the take Franchinos plates. Got off easy.

Maybe we can trade then Pause and X (because they need to replace Drinky) for Shalrie Joseph.

No way that will put us over the Shalrie cap. Is he an SI?

The MLS is in desperate need of a little drama and excitement! Kudos to Joey for being a derelict! It is nice to know we have some players in the league who are a little funked up. We have enough wanna be Eagle Scouts in the league. Maybe if we had a few more Franchinos in the MLS we could get some press coverage!
