I think the 1978 and 1979 posters are the same team, both from 1979.

The 1978 roster included Jerry Bevans, Laurie Calloway, Paul Child, Carl Christensen, Dimitrijre (Dave) Davidovic, LeRoy DeLeon, Volker Fass, Paul Gizzi, Gerry Ingram, Davie Kemp, Sean Keohane, Victor Kodelia, Dick Lukic, Ilija Mitic (retired during season), Parviz (the Persian Pele), Judd Pavlovic, Peter Ressel, John Rowlands (who was traded during the season to Oakland for Volker Fass), John Smillie, Franz Smuda, Tony Suffle', Roger Verdi, Gerrit Vooys, Doug Wark, Ian Wood, and I probably missed a few. Not many of those guys are in the one labeled as 1978. The poster you have for 1978 includes Versen, Cryns, Etterich, Webers, Munk....all who came in 1979. Plus, Peter Stubbe (coach) is in the center (so this would have been after Terry Fisher was fired).

You are right, I forgot that they took two pictures that year because of all the personnel moves. I have fixed it.

Thanks for the Memories! Thanks for the links Ron!

Just that! Hiddink was a typical Role player who held the midfield on the right side. Didn't do much. I never remember him shining too much defensively or offensivel but he always started.

The next pics were of the 1982, 83 & final 84 season. In 1982, the team started gaining a climb back to respectability when Carl Berg bought the club and spent a little more on players. In 80 & 81 the team was made up mostly around George Best, some young Americans as well as Milan Mandaric's Yugos. In 1982 , the Quakes had disciplinarian Peter Short as coach along with some pretty fair players in Godfrey Ingram and Vince Hilaire. Also iin the 82 squad was Win Surrbier the Dutch defender who played in the 74 & 78 World Cup finals. The 1983 team was by far the best with GK Bill Irwin replacing longtime fan favorite Mike Hewitt. that team featured Steve Zungual , Stan Terlecki Godfrey Ingram, Jan Goosens, Chris Dangerfield as well as others. In 1984 the best offensive team played as well as the worst defensive one despite Mike Hunter & Fernando Clavijo anchoring the wings.
