Ribery won't sell for 20 million pounds. What has he done since the World Cup? What did he do during the World Cup for that matter?
Ok, Ribery is a possibility, but unless two or more outfield players leave this summer, i don't see Wenger buying any media-hyped player ..
I agree, Ribery isn't coming here. But if he leaves Marseille this summer i suspect the fee will be alot closer to 15 mil than it is to 20. But that's just my opinion.
No idea, but i wouldn't be surprised if they did. I doubt it would be anywhere near enough to cover Buffon's price tag. But its not really about Buffon's cost, i just don't think he wants to leave Italy, if he did, he would have already. I doubt he played this year in Serie B just for the fun of it.
The other issue with Buffon is that when Abbiati went over to cover from Milan a few years back, Milan got an option on Buffon, so realistically we've got no shot. I'm sure after Cannavaro's time at Real, there won't be too many Italians leaving for top clubs outside of Italy.

I think 20M would buy any of those players. Buffon would probably be the priciest. I'm still a big Babel fan, and think we could land him in the range of 13M.
Buffon would cost a lot! Do we pursue Babel because he is cheaper than Ribery? But who will help the side more in the long term? I say Ribery. I still believe Wenger will get a bunch of no-name cheap players and we will pray that they are diamonds in the rough.
I would like Quaresma from Porto, he would be awesome to have in our line up. Oh yeah throw Eto in there as well since we have lots of money these days.
The problem I have with Quaresma is that while a supremely gifted player, he seems really immature. Do you really need to use all the tricks that he does? Out side of the foot all the time? Crying and complaining to the refs and assistants? Eboue, as a defender, is annoying enough as it is. Having an overly Cronaldo-like winger would do us no good, I think. I'd rather Babel or Ribery. (I used his name! )

I think we need to sell, Lehmann, maybe ljunberg, ali, reyes, helb, and in return i want, robinho or ribery, perferably robinho. Eto'o, CSKA keeper but i could also be ok with almunia being #1.
I want Shay Given!!! He is a mad man! He is one of the best keepers in the world, and he wouldn't be as pricey as Buffon. Newcastle has Harper, Srnicek and Krul. The latter being young, but very talented. Given has international experience, premiership experience, and he doesn't let that many goals in and he plays behind and pretty shaky defense. Do you think we could take Foster away from ManUtd? They have Kuszczak, but only on loan, I think. Foster is young, but really talented. He reminds me alot of Casillas! I also hope to get a winger, but not Ribery! Quaresma will do for me! He's 23 years old!!!! No striker, but I will take a RB, but I just don't know of any that would fit in well with our team. Gilbert is rated pretty high by some people, but I just haven't seen enough of him to know. If this was a fantasy team, I would put Frings in there, but this isn't so I won't!!! Come on Gunners!!!
Does that alleged 20 million take into account people we sell? Even if it doesn't, I think we can get Akinfeev for 5-7 and Quaresma for 10-12 which leaves a little bit extra for *gasp* another prospect.
