I asked this question late last year and was told to wait until March when the rosters were a little more settled and the pre-season games had started, so at least people would know what they were voting on.
Quite simply, who do you think will win the '07 Supporters Shield, thus being the team with the best record over the whole season.

DC. Dc will probably win 24 games for sure this year.

it will be one of the 7 trophies they win this year

Not at all. I voted Galaxy, but the Revs are my MLS team. I'm asking who you think will win it, not who you hope will win it.

That's true...and I did  , but I really think that the Supporter's Shield will go to DC. Doesn't mean they will win the cup, but I think that they are a better team than last year. They got it pretty easy last year despite their late season slump and they will be good again. But if not them? Real Salt Lake of course.:D

Interesting pick, what did you base that on? Honestly I think the Galaxy will be lucky to finish top 4 in the west, with Donovan out for a considerable stretch depending on how much he plays with the NT. The rest of the team isn't really all that good and Becks won't arrive until they're far out of the picture for the western crown let alone the SS discussion.

Houston or Dallas seem like better picks from the west, with DC and NE again the likely picks out of the east.

ossieend, the season will be half over when Beckham arrives. Even if he's the best player in the league by a mile, I don't think the Gals have the horses to be in position for him to lift them to the SS from that point.

DC have looked fantastic. They won it last year, and their roster is improved. They have to be the favorites. The biggest obstacle might be a long run in the Sudamerica. Alot depends on if Fred is a quality wide player. If he is, DC is a well constructed team.

I partially agree. LA won't be a contender for the supporter's shield with Donovan gone some of the year, Beckham arriving late, and the absurd schedule. I would go with Houston and Dallas as well from the west.

However, I disagree that the rest of the team isn't very good. I would say that we have a couple of players who have the potential to be very good but it remains to be seen how they work in Yallop's system (Jaqua and Quaranta and maybe Martino) along with some solid to good journeymen (Cannon, Albright, Marshall) and some youngsters with potential (Sturgis, Kirk).

Take away Donovan and Beckham and we could still field a team that has 9 players capped for their countries. That's not bad for MLS.

Anyway, DC for the supporters shield, but it'll be LA or Houston against Chicago in the MLS cup.

I voted Crew just because they have the fewest number of national team call-ups so they'll have most of their starters intact for the entire season . . . and I don't expect them to have the same amount of injuries again this year.

It's gonna be tough for Houston with DeRoe, Rico and Ching on International duty.

I'm with everybody else and think DC should win the supporters shield.
    Two concerns:

    1) defensive depth. Erpen, Namoff, and Boswell are pretty solid. After that, what? And if Boswell spends some time with the USMNT? Then again, how many teams in MLS have good depth in defense.

2)Soehn. How will he do as a first year coach?

Oh yes, DC will score goals. It's stopping them that I'm concerned about.

Nah. Bruce has said repeatedly that he sees little value in the MLS regular season.

Therin might lie the reason Bruce didn't feel the need to take over the reigns last year till he did. Super late into the season.
