There are 6 teams...and the support isn't THAT bad, the WUSA games always did better than most if not all USL-1 games outside of those in Rochester. Partnering with MLS, using MLS stadia and front offices, and with teams owned by the likes of AEG et al, I would think would bode very well for this incarnation of the women's league. Is there some harm in hoping they succeed? Does it detract from your life in some way or do you think it'll hurt MLS somehow? If you're NOT afraid of something, why do you care enough to criticise.
Yeah, keep laughing, city snob.....you still have to come out to Frisco for all your soccer needs. MU HA HA HA HA HA HA. Are you still playing on the Inferno coed team? Haven't seen you out to practice lately.
Yeah, I am at home with the flu now. Been walking around with this for about 3 weeks. Sucks. Probably out there next Tuesday. And yes, I have no complaints about driving to Frisco for games and stuff.
Sure as hades could have used you last Friday. We had one sub for ea. gender. They hung a quarter of a dozen goals on us and by one guy.
I have three daughters...how many you got...?? (that you know about) then ussoccer is wrong....and alone in the world.
I got a sister, a mother and a wife. What the hell is your point? You mean no one with a daughter was ever a mysoginist? I'm pretty sure that's not right. Or.....heaven forbid...you are.
the point is..."moderator"....that I am well familiar with womens rights....the USA national team is just that....the USA.....it is for example....USA vs England in Chicago....NOT USMNT vs England in Chicago..... and no, I'm not wrong on this...it is absolutly nuts and the laughing stock of the world to referr to the USA as the USMNT....just friggin nuts.
What does me being a moderator have to do with this? It is, whether you agree or not, the USMNT. Just because other countries aren't proud of their women's teams doesn't mean we have to follow blindly. You know, it is okay to do things differently. It actually shows you have a freakin' independent thought process. WE AREN'T EUROPE. WE AREN'T ENGLAND. WE DO THINGS OUR OWN WAY AND WE ARE DAMN PROUD OF THAT. No, you aren't wrong....it's just an opinion....and if anyone is "laughing" at us for recognizing our women's team equally, they can "bugger off" as you would say.
...Of course you are right....although anywhere else in the world this is referred to as being Pus_y whipped....
having raised 5 kids and changed way more diapers than you, (unless you are in the habit of changing the diapers of other mens kids) I would think I wrote the book on being a sensitive, modern man, I guess..... Look, I certainly don't want to get in a pissing contest about this....but personally I will NEVER referr to the USA as the USMNT or "the nats".....just like I will NEVER referr to FCD, England or the USA as being "we". (even though, in a somewhat sick way, I am WAY more qualified than almost all ?on these boards to do so regarding the latter).....this post excepted of course....
What happened to the Dallas Redfaces.....uh Dallas Sunburn.....uh.... oh yea the Dallas Burns? I thought they were out your way? Or is that another gone gone soccer team?
The little ole NBA had this same idea. The WNBA is struggling to stay in existence. Very few NBA owners left. They tried it and said no thank you. The women had to deal with ANOTHER pay cut and games cut this last season. Nothing against the women, but this concerns me. The WNBA had NBA owners, fo, stadia, advertising support, money etc etc, and are barely making it. Therefore, MLS involvement concerns me. And don't give me any baloney "what have you got against the women". I like them and watch them play sports and "dance" . The Baylor Ladybears are my 2nd fav NCAA basketball team after the UT men's team. I watch most of their televised games. Wish they could beat A&M and the okies, but it doesn't look likely. The A&M point guard and that lady Shaq at Oklahoma won't let them do it. That's okay though, we still have the best looking coach!! Anyway, I think there are valid concerns with MLS involvement, otherwise I hope they do well. They did seem to have a lot of fans, but how much did Mia have to do with that?
Okay...for maybe the 100th time on BigSoccer......this is not the same as the WNBA. The NBA completely subsidized that league from the beginning and it has never gotten to a point where it didn't need significant cash infusions to continue exisisting. It's TV deal is a total piggyback on the NBA's. WUSA 2.0 is going to get some marketing, facilities and operational help from MLS. The only MLS ownership group to own a team in this league will be AEG. The rest have independent ownership, so I don't see where all this "it's going to kill the MLS" crap is coming from.
No. Though Tasha Kai can do wahtever she likes to me. She has some nice tattoos. Very nice. Skilled striker, as well. Enough so, that she is now with the US National Team. Take that, E66! And you still owe me a beer. As some of you know, I am a great fan of naming teams after the Bard's villians. Percy is taken, but how about Lady MacBeth? She was pretty nasty. I am uncertain if I will support the team in DC, but, if I was still in Dallas, I would certainly support that team. One day, MudSports was a little bit off, because I posted on TIDN, and he did not immediatly close the thread or delete my post, which is normal procedure on that site. I took some heat for ingoring the social element of the Inferno, and highlighting the more criminal past. Fine. I will share my recipes with you. If part of the game is the social side of the Inferno, if the tailgate is a big part of the game, even without Islamicart, then the women's league is another chance. FCD away? All right, here is the tailgate for the women. What's it going to be then, eh? Soccer? Or social? If you attend games purly for the sport, than I suppose you could make an argument why you will not support the team. Perhaps not a praticularly good one, but it is a debatable issue. If the social issue is part of why you attend, I cannot see how one would not support a reason for more tailgates, more brats, and more cheap beer. I would expect those who do considre the social aspect of the Inferno to be important would attend those games. I would certainly attend, at least until the restraining order came through. Scipio's taste in women just varies from yours, Alex. He likes the goth chick, you like the sorority blonde. I find value in both options.
