Hi everyone. Comcast is apparently negotiating to broadcast Gol TV, a Latin American soccer channel that is carrying La Liga and Serie A games. Denver/Boulder is not currently one of the regions that is planning to pick it up. Anyone interested in getting more soccer on Comcast here in Colorado should email or call Comcast and suggest they add Gol TV. Here is the email mnylen posted in the La Liga forums.

"This is an email I just got from Gol TV:

    Dear Soccer Fan,

We are glad to inform you that GolTV has recently started negotiations with Comcast cable company.
At this time, our channel will only be available in Latino channel packages.
If you wish to receive GolTV through a different channel pack option (non-Latino) or if GolTV is not yet available in your area’s Comcast service, please call them to express your particular interests.

Although this information is subject to further updates, we can already confirm Comcast in the following cities:

Cable Operator City Launch Date Channel #
    Comcast S.F. / San Jose, CA 10/15/2003 618

Comcast Alburquerque, NM To be confirmed To be confirmed
    Comcast Dallas, TX 10/10/2003 617

Once again, we appreciate your interest in GolTV, the first specialty channel focusing exclusively on the sport with the largest following in the world.

    GolTV on the Dish

This past weekend I noticed that GolTV is on Dish now as part of the Top 150 package. I've only seen it advertised as part of the Spanish packages, but it's there and it's in English. Channel 407 I think.

On Sunday, I saw a 2 hour show called Just Goals (or something like that). They claimed to have "every goal" from across the globe from the past week. I don't know how close they came to delivering that, but I did see the big leagues (EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Mexico, etc.) as well as a bunch of small stuff (Guatemala, some African country I forgot, etc.). I didn't get to watch it all so I don't know if they included MLS or not. I'll Tivo it and watch it again later...(beautiful thing, that Tivo).

I've got GolTV on Dish but only recently started watching it because I did not even know I had it for a while.

Gol TV also has some of the most wild-assed informercials you will find. There is one for a massive CD compilation of what I think is Mexican music that features women dancing in negligees for most of the half hour. It appears to have a goofy plot line that I don't understand since it is in Spanish, but honestly you don't need that. It is a work of art.

I watch FSW mostly with my limited viewing time but GOL has more soccer, it seems. A lot of the feeds have a grainy appearance with dubbed English language anouncers giving it a quality similar to what I imagine Soviet TV was like.
I haven't looked for the Seria A and La Liga games yet. I did see part of a Seria A game once and half the field was in a deep shadow so you would constantly see players disappear and reappear.

But there are a lot of games on so if you need a fix and a classico for the Ecuadorian league will do, keep Gol on your favorites list.

Hi, I just arrived from Spain and I would like to watch tomorrow Barcelona-Athletic the Bilbao.

I am a Bilbao supporter, and Barcelona is my second team.

The place where I am going to live in Denver (LoDo)is being painted, and I am at a hotel.

I think they pass it on goal tv. Do you know where can I watch it? any sport bar? are you watching it?

    Thanks

Welcome to Denver! The best place in town to watch soccer is the British Bulldog. I know a group of us will be down there early to watch the Carling Cup final, and I'm sure there will be plenty of fans there in the afternoon to help you cheer on your teams.

Did Victoria say they'd be open at 7:30? I could've sworn Kailei told me 8.

my guess is that the broadcast begins at 7:30, but kick off is at 8am.

It'd be REALLY nice if they opened a bit early so that everyone can get their pint and have a seat before the game starts.

Tina (Love Football), I do not have tickets, I just arrived 3 days ago. What is the best way to get them in your area of the stadium?

    Tailgate sounds great.

asier, I will be wearing a grey FIFA WC 2006 sweatshirt, and my husband will have on a Rooney jersey. We usually sit at the high top tables by the walk-in cooler. I still look pretty much like I do in my profile photo, but with a different hairstyle. How will we recognize you?
