What can I say, I love futbol, and this why this is the best sport in the world.

Even though our biggest rival was always Honduras (los catrachos are looking strong) we go for the "big boys" of now days, La Zuiza de America."

    Los Ticos vrs Los Truchos.

Bien pues hijosdelmaiz, pongamosle mas sal y pienta a este despije.

ES vrs CR oh boy, what a game.

Papel y lapiz bc history is about to be written. I love this kind of games. Shit talking, lagrimas, gritos, alma corazon y vida, pack stadiums, people all screaming after every play, the whole country stops for 90 minutos to watch the warriors on tv fight for pride

I say we win, and it will be tough, we may not have Magico Gonzalez anymore but we have WEBOS, and we are going for the win. Its our home, our field, our rules.

Cheers, let the real futbol centro americano begins.

My money is on my Salvatrucho boys, where is yours??

Good luck Tico felows, youll really need it.

Both teams played really bad in their last group matches (granted they had already both booked a spot in the semifinals before those matches though) so I dunno. With home field advantage I could definitally see El Salvador making it to the finals.

Costa Rica`s having some issues right now. When they get their act together all of you are in trouble(including Mexico and the US)

I think Costa Rica is making it to the final, ES may have many webos, but we have better players, ES struggled to beat weaker teams like Belize and Nicaragua, i really think they wont be able to beat us, but who nows...anything can happen.

I don't think we're giving enough credit to Belize and Nicaragua for bringing it to our boys. B and N both had their hearts in it, maybe even more than ES did. Well...I know Nica did for sure. But their nivel is alot higher than it used to be. Some teams have come up, and others down. The ones that were up have gone down and the ones that were down are now higher. Look at Mexico...no longer as feared as they were now that the US has taken their spot at the top. Now the US is the team to beat in the CONCACAF region, but since our teams in CA have come up, then there's no doubt in my mind that, soon, all of our teams will become heavy contenders for the top spot...who knows, perhaps, soon, a CA team will become the ONE to beat in all of CONCACAF. CR and HON have potential to be that ONE, but GUA and ES are starting to challenge that notion.
Our players can play in any league in the world, given a chance to work with the technical directors and such that are in Europe, that makes a huge difference, as we have seen with Dudley Hitchman in ES. Which brings me to the point...with a few days of rest, our team is going to be at 100% to run up and down that field as if their life depended on it. Dudley knows that to outlast another team physically is a huge advantage, and I'm sure at the 90th minute, when everyone thinks the game is gonna go into extra time, you'll see little Juan Diaz take on a defender, cross it, and there'll be Paleta heading the ball into the back of the net, followed by a euphoric roar of the crowd.
    Ilusionado? Why not! :D

Like the saying goes... it's time to grab the bull by the horns... and kick him in the "webos"

We know this is not CR's strongest bull, still, it is the bull that los matadores del pulgarcito must face...

It's going to be a blood bath... (it better be damn it, tired of crappy games by every f'n team in this tourney)

I can't wait... f'k huevos, lets play some futbol... Friday can't come soon enough!

Dios te oiga chero y que asi sea! :)

I like this when your national team is playing sht, you call it"b" team. Trinis when they get their a$$ kicked they call their own "C team".

This is very funny! Why your Coach taking the risk to bring a so called "b" team for a Gold Cup qualifying? It's better he brings the U 20 at least he will have excuses in case of failure.

I believe your so called "b" team is made of the best player in Guatemala League at the moment.

Re: El Salvador vrs Costa Rica, the real deal.

i hate to switch the subject.
because the Group was weak , here some top player we were missing

    Mario Rodriguez
    Carlos Ruiz
    Dwight pezzarossi
    Hernan Sandoval
    Pando Ramirez
    Pablo Melgar
    Angel Sanabria

we are missing a lot of starters. yes they are playing bad, but this isn't the best team that our coach put forward, hence they are the " b" team, its not what team is really capable of. whats the point of playing Brazil if there missing Ronaldhino, kaka, roberto carlos, and ronaldo?? its a whole diffrent team?? also the players we have in the UNCAF they are among the best in the Domestic league but not the best , he could of brought a few more players with more experience and skill from the domestic league like Figeroa, Hulse, Linares, etc..

had we fielded this team we would swept our group and the CUP, Papito you are very harsh criticizer of Guatemala, you are not very aware of our player pool, and if you were more informed you would know that this team wouldn't start the Gold Cup or World cup qualifiers for guatemala with a few exceptions( foster, cabrera, thompson), that our coach wants to mold the young player, and mature them against weak squads before they play stronger sides.

yea you beat a T&T with out thier stars , its like england using thier full side, beating Argentina and Argentina is composed of u-23 domestic league players. that was merely the camparision i was making.

Don't ********ing try to bring excuses just cause your team is playing like garbage.....i bet only like 2 of those players will be called for the goldcup.... and most of those players are good, but are not going to change a game, if those players were so good maybe you could of gone to your first WC in 05.

...Who got lucky against Honduras and lost to Panama?

I think we should all have learned by now that making assumptions is not the way to go any more for this particular tournament...

All of the assumptions so far that have been made for every team, have been wrong. (good or bad)

LOL, you're just scared because your team plays very mediocre football with their best players and in front of their home crowd. For Guatemala, only like 3 players from WCQ played against ES (including the GK). Take a look http://youtube.com/watch?v=YEEgQNOpCwU :D

I wouldn't mind seeing ES take this one and knock Costa Rica of it's high horse.

What really worries me are the refs, the crowd wont be a problem, everybody in central america hates CRNT, our players are pretty used to it. But the refs might give a hand to ES because of the fact they are the home team, lets just hope for a clean game

I'm really excited to see what's up. According to the papers from around CA, ES is looking like the favorite because everyone is seeing their improvement. I hope that this game they go into it with everything. Though I'm still wondering what is gonna happen without Cheyo pushing that right side.
