I am SO happy for him and for him and for Japanese soccer.
I hope now the Japanese media let him live, and he continues the good job...

good news indeed. great way to get yourself noticed....scoring an equalizer in dying mins of the game on you debut!

hope he will now get more minutes on the field and hopefully either extend his loan deal or be signed outright. Whats the arrangement with Tokyo Verdy? is it a simple one-year loan to Catania or are there any additional clauses and options?

Must not forget to give some praise to Tokyo Verdy's Youth system as well. It seems to be doing a good job.

Re: Takayuki Morimoto: the new japanese star!

Doubled? Way more than that. Juventus, a notoriously stingy club*, has just paid 5.25m Euro (+ half of two youngsters) for HALF of Criscito, a (very promising) 2nd division defender that plays now in Genoa, Kazu's ex-team.

Considering the Japanese sponsors that will come with him, Morimoto is worth now at least 2m; and if it keeps up playing like this, and scoring some more goal, he can be easily worth 5m by the end of the season.

Just imagine then if Catania makes the Champions League preliminaries...

Also, it would be interesting to see him take on some of the strongest Italian youth squads, such as Juventus, Inter, Atalanta, Sampdoria, Lecce, etc, since the group where Catania plays is not too competitive: we'll see what happens in the play-offs!!

    * Juve is Stingy with one exception: spent 20m Euro for Vieira...

Hey, your website was reported on one of the Japanese News Media: http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/world/p-sc-tp3-20070130-149027.html

"Last October, Catarasso (sp?), a college student from Roma has started a fan site name MORIMOTO MANIA and it had over 15,000 access right after the game"

Alrigh... you got to work on Japanese. Did you use babelfish translation? They do not make sense at all, even thought I kind of know what you are trying to say.

    Let's start from the top:
    森本 貴幸 の目的!!!
    should be
    森本貴幸、セリエA初ゴール!!!

    森本 貴幸 は第88分のCataniaにAtalantaの1-1引くことを渡すために平衡装置を記録した
    should be
    森本貴幸はアトランタ戦で後半39分にセリエAデビューを果たし、そしてわずか3分で同点ゴールを叩き込んだ!!

    彼の最初目的のビデオ!
    should be
    初ゴールのシーン!

Re: Takayuki Morimoto: the new japanese star!

I've noticed the TV interview one can watch on the Catania website is not very well done. Among other minor blunders, the journalist was asking: "Which player, in the present or in the past, is your model?" But the interpreter asked Morimoto something more like "Which player in Catania is your model," to which the youngster answered "Spinesi"...
So, the journalists expected an answer such as "Van Basten" or "Trezeguet", and they got the name of a minor Italian player who is having a surprisingly brilliant season, and assumed Morimoto's absolute idol is his sempai at Catania...

    yes! it's true!

it demonstrates one more time that Morimoto further to be a great soccer player he's very humble;)

Spinesi is one of the best friend in Italy for Morimoto, for him he's an idol.

Re: Takayuki Morimoto: the new japanese star!

Umbe, I am sure Morimoto likes Spinesi, only the question was different ;)Anyway, translating from Italian to Japanese and vice-versa is not an easy task. Who's Morimoto's translator? Where's he from? What's his background?? I'd be really curious to know...

PS='Official' value of Morimoto today is 1m Euro. Coming from a friend who 'trades' serie A players (real ones, not on fantacalcio!).

Morimoto's translator is called Kyo, he's japanese and further to be a personal Morimoto's translator is a physiotherapy.

He speaks a good italian but sometimes he doesn't understand the question:) maybe because in Sicily there is a different italian accent.

Anyway Morimoto is studing italian every day, i hope he'll learn it fast...but i understand that's not so easy.

I'm searching japanese people to moderate and animate the japanese section forum, someone interested?:D

    lol

yes, its always amusing to see how people translate stuff, and sometimes like above it results in the original question becoming totally different.

often wonder if i notice so many translation errors in these interviews etc, wonder how much "wrong" answers to a inaccurately translated questions and answers that i dont know about but i take as the "right" answer, taking them to be a true reflection of what the interviewee thinks and his or her personality, when in actual fact things got lost in translation, and i simply didnt know about it or realise it.
