I'm a displaced DC United supporter in California so I often find myself organizing seating for travelling and similarly displaced United fans at Galaxy games. Now I'll probably do the same for Chivas games against DC. Here's the thing. I know where the Galaxy supporters groups sit, and I've always had my group at an opposite corner from them - usually 127. It works out nicely. But where are you guys going to sit? I assume it won't be close to the Galaxy supporters sections. That wouldn't work for all those Chivas vs Galaxy dates when you'll both be in the stadium. Or would it? Maybe it would. I don't know. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had given thought to this matter. We're already thinking ahead to our season opener against you guys and we should have a pretty good group of supporters there. The question is where we'll sit. I'd hate to be displaced from my prefered 127, but if you folks are going to occupy that section, then perhaps we'll move elsewhere.
We will be everywhere! There will be no hiding from us! This is not going to be the soccer mom environment people may have become accustomed to at the HDC. The peace and quiet ends here! BTW to answer your question you can reserve some seats for yourself and the traveling DC fans at the bleachers which overlook the track and field venue at the HDC.
Actually, he did. With the Chivas games, there'll be no need for a "Supporters Section" as the entire stadium will be "Supporters". What you need to do is contact the front office and ask them if you can carve out a section of GA tickets - probably on Lalas Hill or in the upper deck if you want a block set aside.
Knave, The way Mexies go to a footy match is quite diffrent.. The majority of us dont plan ahead and reserve seating charts ect.. we just wait untill matchday to decide if we are going to go to the game. Therefore you will see many chivas fans on opening day looking for ticksts only to realize that they are sh'te out of luck. We are used to the L.A Coliseum (90k) and buying a ticket on matchday.. I saw this happen during Interliga were many fans showed up for the Opener which was a double header with Chivas and America, how fans didnt expect the 27k HDC to sell out is beyond me and there was road signs anouning "event sold out" and people still kept showing up trying to buy tickets. Some learned their lesson and bought tickets for matchday two thats day,lol..
I've heard that before, but I figured there'd still be an organized supporters club somewhere in the stadium. But if not, then I'm just going to buy tickets in our usual seats when the time comes.
The Chivas Legion 1908 supports group which has fans in Mexico and the U.S will most likely be organizing groups for Chivas USA but i dont have any info on them..
"Amid your chest thumping you didn't actually answer my question." Your question was answered by time, just go to the game, plenty of room. Average attendance regular season/playoffs Chivas: 2005: 17,080/missed playoffs 2006: 19,840/15,110 Galaxy: 2005: 24,204/17,466 2006: 20,814/missed playoffs
