He'll actually get an O-1 visa. P-1's are for specific and therefore short term events (the visiting teams in CCC will get P-1's). http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1271.html How long it will take depends on how long it takes MLS to get the paperwork in order and when and where he actually applies (Honduras v. his home consulate in Brazil). Don't ask me how I know, just believe me that I do.
If he doesn't get his visa before the first game, but is a legal resident of Honduras, is there any reason he couldn't play in the leg down there?
Here's a article from AP via Yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/mls/news?slug=ap-mls-united-emilio&prov=ap&type=lgns Not too much new except that Emilio will be communicating to Soehn in German. Of course.
I hope he does that everywhere but in Teguchigalpa. I would hope that only that son of a seacook Quaranta would pull crap like that. (I hope Beckham never passes him the ball.)
Emilio looks like Maurice Clarett to me. Let's hope if they have anything in common it's talent on the field and not all the negative drama.
Thank you so much, it has been bugging me all day trying to figure out where I had seen him before, now I know I haven't he just looks like someone else.
Sorry, but that iffhs system makes the old or the new FIFA systems look like E=MC2. It's godawful stupid.
It was actually a certain retired player who shall remain nameless. Kissing the EVIL shield probably had something to do with shortening his career. Do I speak what!?!
At the combine, I was in the top row of Lockhart and "a certain retired player who shall remain nameless" was sitting by himself 6 seats to my right with no one around us. I debated throwing him off the back row to the ground (asphalt) 40 feet below - but the game started and I got distracted (ADHD wins again). By HT he had his little posse around me.
Pointed out by Goff was that we chose Gomez over Emilio 3 years ago. I think that shows the kind of regard we had for him--that we were deciding between Gomez or Emilio. And separate from how it played out, we needed a playmaker so Gomez was the right choice. But if they're of similar talent than I'm really excited.
Terrible that players our front office have screwed over hold a grudge against them. Just shocking to me.
Does your sarcasm extend to such players holding that grudge against the team's fans -- including specifically (through direct interaction) those fans who knew those players well through numerous one-on-one interactions nowhere near the stadium, and were uniformly supportive in those interactions?
There's some key points in Goff's write up this morning: and So United's still sitting on that big pile of allocation money, and Emilio is basically taking Donnet's salary.
Emilio definitely said the right things in the video clip... hard work and wanting to elevate DC United.
I am not sure why you are offended by Lisi. He ran to the corner where La Norte is now but was not at that time and kissed the badge of a team that believed in him. John_Harkes_6 and I were probably the two closest fans to this incident. I did not see what Tino did but outside of trying to buy him a carseat I don't remember love flowing towards the boy during his time here.
Q is on the shit list for a reason....thats all I need to know. To get back to the Emilio....I hope he can get some good feeds on corner kick's...I am unsure of the count left over from last year, but damn we sure do need someone to send him a few balls. ~worm~
If we could provide you the video evidence, we would. Suffice it to say that everyone on the Barra and Eagles side saw what he did, and for that he will not be quickly forgiven. Tino was welcomed at tailgates, and as a Maryland boy he really should have known better.
I hope this dude is as dangerous (or dangerouser) with his yeah, with this news and the Ruy deal falling apart (and who is /was it that we were thinking about loaning?) - did we really need to trade Esky away for the extra allocation money after all? I can't really blame Lisi too much, the team did really ******** him over, sending him to NJ and Ray talking crap about him in the press. Still, he should have known better, but I can understand it. Tino was simply an ass, with no particular "reason" at all.
