So, this past summer, Real Madrid only managed a 1-1 draw against a team 70 leagues below them.

And, I thought Nottm Forest's recent FA Cup win over Charlton was a scalp.

Yeah, but I for one was glad to see he had his look down. The dreds had to go.

He has a very good MLS CV. Very consistent scorer at Olimpia, coming in steady at over 20 a calendar year. I think it's reasonably to hope that'll translate to >10 here if we can give him the support.

I think it's safe to assume that he's only going to be able to play one position.

    :D

Sorry, I had been listening to only part of the press conference. The way they were describing his workrate, tracking back, linking up with defenders and forwards sounded like they were describing a midfielder. Almost exactly what Gomez does right now for us.

If what they were saying is true, Josh Gros might just have some competition for long-distance running within the team.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Saw him play for Olimpia in the back half of a doubleheader (against Salvadoran side Aguila) whose first game was the Houston Dynamo's opening Open Cup game in 2006. Olimpia won 3-2 on a late goal, and he had their first. Headed in a cross. Seemed pretty good. Good pickup.

I bolded the important part. Gomez and Moreno will be able to; will Olsen, Carroll, and whoever we'll have outside? Hope so.

One concern I have (emphasis added in the below):
Any reason to worry that this won't happen in time for CCC play? I don't know whether P-1 visas take a long time, or what they are, even.

Emilio, could be one those bragains, A La Stern John. I been reading his scoring record, not bad. Then, he could be sold A La Stern John.

MLS, should focus getting best talent around the region ( CONCACAF ). Not be snobs like the mexicans. Argentina teams sign Uruguayans, columbians, and paraguayans, develop them and sell them abroad. In our case, this might be bring more fans into games and watch more games on TV.

    1. What is P1 entertainment visa?

The P1 entertainment visa is a nonimmigrant visa which allows foreign nationals who are athletes, artists and entertainers to enter into the U.S. for a specific event, competition or performance.

Didn't see anything (yet) about how long it takes to get.

Found this in an article about hockey player Marc Denis.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Wow. If it really does take 12 - 14 weeks for his P1 Visa to go through, that could be from the middle of April to the beginning of May! The only silver lining in that scenario is that he wouldn't be playing for CD Olimpica. I sure hope K/P/S have an insider in the State Dept. who can move his paperwork along, real fast.

I also guess that we knew that he was not going to be given the #69 jersey.

I haven't been able to confirm the 12-14 weeks via Goggle or any other quasi-official gov't page. Surely it didn't take 12-14 weeks for Erpen et. al. to have their paperwork complete. More like 2 or 3 at the most.

    Thx,

    Jay!

If you can get him "legal" in time, irony of ironies, his first games for DC would be against his old team, Olimpia, in the CONCACAF tourney.

And why not? Might add a little spice to the game, and cause soccer parents to explain a few things after the Barra comes up with a suitable cheer.

I do have a gripe on this front, though... They gave him Esky's #11! C'mon, guys, the body's barely cold!
