I know since it is a Wednesday night that there probably won't be a huge number of y'all coming up for the game, but for those that would like to, here is the information on getting tickets:

It is an 8:00 game, and I'm sure all of the Dallas Sam's Army folk would love to have you guys in support.

My plan is to make it up for the game...as long as I can take off early that day and get a reasonable airfare. Part 1 is the hard part.

So... I know it's the national team and all, but I really want to wear orange in PHP again. Is that appropriate?

If you have a USATeam Jersey would be great for this game. You after all are there for the USA or maybe Guatemala.???

Most of the people I talk to feel that when it comes to the USMNT you go with those colors in order to show your unwavering support of them. That's why I have a separate USA Jersey for such occasions. You can still wear a Dynamo hat tho.

I wish I could go, but an out-of-town mid-week game isn't something I can do until after April 15.

I think sometimes American soccer fans can get a bit more puritanical than many other countries' fans. It's not at all unusual to see people from/in other countries wearing their clubs' jerseys when they go support their national teams. They're still very vocal in supporting their nats. American soccer fans sometimes look like they're trying too hard to show that they're "real" supporters after all.

The only time it looks bad is when your club's jersey looks too much like the nats' opponents' jersey. Other than the Netherlands, Dynamo fans wouldn't have to worry too much about it.

Last I heard about color preference from Sam's Army was to wear red. The team either wears white/blue or blue/white, and the SA completes the combination by wearing red. There was some argument that it should change to the color the team is wearing that day but, last I heard, that view didn't seem to be gathering steam. I guess we need to go look at the guidelines @ Sams-Army.com. ;)

Out-of-town mid-week may be off my radar too. But not for tax reasons. (Damn new software rollouts... ) Oh well, at least their's the DVR...

My take on club/country in the US is this - we can't afford the rivalry because it is still too symbiotic. Both needs the other. Until we have full SSS for the vast majority of matches, with supporters groups numbering in the four digits in-game, there is work to be done.

And looking longterm, I hope that this support of both can be maintained.

That being said, now that I think about it, it depends on what you are going to the game for. If you're hard-core TA or EB, but want to go to the game not to support either the US or Guatemala but want to go see a good game, why not wear your club colors? But I wouldn't recommend standing in either supporters section in that situation - not because you wouldn't necessarily be welcome, but why take away from the momentum of the section? (I tend to think of supporters groups like nuclear reactions - critical mass and all that.)

Either way, if you want to come up for the game, we'd love to have you.

Re: USA-Guatemala at PHP on March 28

There's really no conflict here. Some people wear their club jerseys to their nats games and passionately support their nats. I've been to about a dozen US nats games and have always worn some US nats jersey (even when the US played my country of origin), but people show up in all sorts of jerseys. It's not an either/or proposition.

Obviously, if you plan on standing with an organized supporters' group that has a dress code, then you should plan to dress accordingly.

Not really, that's like the losers that wear Man U or Chelsea jerseys to MLS games.

You know Kebzach, I have talked with a number of Scots,Brits, and German "Dynamo" fans wearing their favorite jersey to the games. I have not thought it was innapropriate for them to wear it? I was not offended in any way. I actually find it interesting and it is a great way to break the ice and meet new and interesting people, whom I would not have met if they were all Dynamo cloned supporters. ;)

I have met 2 really great German people and have become good friends with them. So I guess what I am saying is, Let people wear what they want. It adds to the color and diversity of the supporters and the game.!!!

I would say that if you are going to the game and standing with Sam's Army it would be good to wear red.

If you just going to the game to cheer for the U.S. then a Dynamo jersey/shirt is fine. I have a blue national team jersey so I'll probably wear that because I'm not planning to stand with Sam's Army.

As a Sammer who has "fought" on three countinents, I'd agree.

BTW, note that the form above is not just for Sam's Army.

USMNT vs. Guatemala up at Robertson North

During the Pirate Party last night, there was talk of organizing a road trip up to Robertson North (for all of those who don't know where that it, it is Pizza Hut Park in Frisco) for the USMNT and Guatemala game.

The game is set for Wednesday, March 28 at 8:00. I know it is a mid-week game, so it will make things tough for us, but I think we could round up some supporters to make the trip.

Ticket prices in the Sam's Army section are $20, which is a great deal. For those of you that have yet to attend a USMNT game, it is a great experiences, and I think it would be good for us to get crazy and show Frisco that the Dynamo fans can get behind the USMNT just as much as we get behind the Dynamo.

If you guys are interested in going up there and getting tickets, let's try to get a list going, so we can plan rides up there and back.

    In Soccer,

    Senor Cool

I would want to go if we are going to sit together, and be able to stand and cheer the entire game without someone telling me to sit down.

We can't have empty seats like in Carson,Calif., here Texas.

We got 15k for a sub-freezing game against Guatemala last year....I think we can do much better than that pathetic 10k in LA on Saturday.
