At least we didn't get beaten yesterday although we should of won on paper and we should win since we are at home and our record there. It wasn't the best performances yesterday but the defence and goalkeeper played brilliantly - midfielders and forwards less so. We definately need a new first team striker from somewhere because our striking department is severely lacking goals. Samaras scored from the spot but he didn't look much of a threat throughout the game and Vassell should of scored two one-on-one chances and Dickov nor Corradi are any better. IMO I think we should use Vassell as more of a winger and buy two more strikers but we don't have enough money.

We got Southampton at home in the fourth round should we beat Wednesday in the replay. Not a bad 4th round tie and we should be favourites but it doesn't always go that way and BWP might come back to haunt us.

Bad news, Trabelsi is out for a month as well. I'd be tempted to play Vassell on the right cos whenever Sinclair has played he has been pretty awful.

Yeah that's unfortunate, Vassell on the right would be a good idea
but I think the key to winning is Samaras, he must play he has scored our only goals in cup games even if one was by a penalty and another in a losing effort. He's seems to be hitting form lately and getting out of that slump :) and also I thinks it's time Sturridge gets some playing time

Me too. He can't do any worse than Dickov or Corradi

Corradi oh man, I mean I like the guy but we totally overpaid for him, is it just me or do Italians have a tough time playing in the EPL

I honestly can't think of one single decent Italian playing in the Premiership at the minute. Carvalho is decent but he sometimes makes mistakes... Hmm. Nope, still can't think of anyone.

Btw, the home replay against Wednesday is on Sky Sports 1 on Tuesday night.

Great finish for the winner but he really should put away more 1-on-1's. His pace gets him into the positions (he had 3 last night), but he seems to loose his composure a bit. Still, he's probably our best striker at the moment - says a lot doesn't it!!

Good game of football and of course I'm glad we won :) Great performances by Barton and Ireland in particular imo. Shame Vassell didn't score more like cos he missed a few 1-on-1s but this goal will do him a world of good IMO. He is a confidence striker and through a range of injuries and being played out of position he hasn't built up any confidence at all and you could tell when he panicked and just tried to get a shot on target and score. His goal was taken well and I think maybe, just maybe he will score more regularly if he keeps up this confidence and I will pray god every night for him to do so. He isn't a natural goalscorer but if the team plays well then he will get his fair share of goals.

A lot of respect is due to the Sheffield Wed fans who came with 6,000 fans and the players made a real game of it and good luck to them for the rest of the season.
